Charming and relevant.

I personally don't get the hype about football or the attitudes of those that tend to play it or should think that it rules the world. My Uncle has always been a huge fan of the sport and I find it very difficult to connect with him, because his interest in it, seems to make him a very different type of person to me.

What I liked about this film though, was that there seemed to at least be some sort of resolution at the end. So many of these short stories leave so many questions unanswered. Over the years I have grown so tired of the shorts on the 'Boys On Film' DVD's that gave lead nowhere and just been very strange or as if they were a snippet of something much larger, so this was nice.

And who doesn't like the locker room romances?

It's really hard to fill a review for a short film with 600 characters as required by IMDB, 300 would be pushing it.

Excellent Short

Such a well written and directed film from a freshman director. Entire stories conveyed in simple gestures and looks. It is a powerful statement of our time. This is a understated tour de force about the important subject of love in football. The film contrasts brightly against the tradition of homophobia so prevalent in football. Using simple sets and locations, Rudd uses cinematography to portray complex emotions. The younger brother deserves an award for supporting actor. Francis Rudd clearly shows great promise as an up and coming writer/director. The film was nominated for several awards and shown on Channel 4.

I really enjoyed this short film from the beginning to the end. It was really different to the same old, same old that you see around nowadays. I found it to be very refreshing and broached a subject that needs to be discussed. Men tend to not talk about their feelings more than women, so it really was great to see them have a happy ending and come out in such a macho orientated industry. It had me on the edge of my seat at times, which doesn't happen often to me watching short films. I didn't want it to end as I was enjoying it so much, but thought the ending was brilliant! I really hope to see more short films like this in the future.
