Worst movie in Earth?
x-hacker12314 August 2013
It's a very bad "movie". Poor video and sound quality, poor characters. Actually it's a peace of crap. Fortunately for all involved, this movie has a "so bad that it's good" quality that can be fun IF YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BETTER TO DO. Worst movie ever seen. Worst acting too. I cannot imagine a movie worse then this. Nothing to see. No acting at all. They (actors) should look for another job. I cant't understand who was stupid enough to actually put money into this "movie". The ladies in the movie...perhaps they better stick to XXX. Actually I can't see any actor in this movie. No actors. No director. No acceptable music. Nothing.

DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. NEVER! THIS IS BU****IT

funny at all

I know it's an ultra low budget movie but the script and unique characters make it all very funny beside the technical issues like sound.

Hungarian indie film at it best
Trany_909 March 2014
It's a good laugh for a night you just want to let the steam out. Dobogo kovek doesn't follow any typical film structure, it is rather a bunch of sketches stitched together that delivers some absolutely hilarious moments.

Well-known Hungarian actors play together with some unknown faces which is very refreshing to see as usually in Hun films they like to use the exact same actors over and over again. Even though I read the movie was a low budget production it only shows in the sound quality. Visually I couldn't see any difference compared to average, high-budget national productions. And in terms of jokes and funny situations this movie is amongst the top 3 Hungarian comedies! I enjoyed it a lot (especially the 'robbery scene') and would recommend it to anyone who likes creative approaches and storytelling in a comedy.

Now I get it
criticcricket29 September 2021
I saw this movie at a house party a million years ago and it all looked like something that doesn't make any sense.

There were scenes that had nothing to do with one another.

Then I got older. I saw it once again at a friendly gathering as the host is huge fan of one of the main stars of the movie (Johnny Gold) and the second experience was totally different.

I got all the jokes this time I guess. My favorite one is when someone is painting a picture and her brother asks what she is doing. The painting is already done, but she's acting like she is painting it at the moment. I've seen it a million times in other movies and here, the actor asks the "painter" what the hell they are still doing with the finished piece of art.

Or another example for the weird humor of the movie: Johnny Gold arrives by taxi and the driver asks for a certain amount. In other movies, the actor just gives a bill and goes, here the actor spends almost a minute to pull the coins together. That was a scene that was heavily critisized and I guess that's one of the bravest and coolest scenes I've seen in a Hungarian movie. I like the acting and the dialogs, the slang is very unique and fresh even after 10 years! I can't give it a 10 star as the sound is very raw and feels like a no budget movies voice over.

You need a few minutes to get used to it and start feeling the movie.

It's something else for sure.

Crazy and cutting edge
kelly-johnsonlove19 October 2015
As a Hungarian ex-pat I like to keep up with Hungarian movies and I was surprised to see that I missed this one somehow. And I just loved it! I don't understand why this movie is rated so low, I think it should be at least a 7. Since it's way low-voted, I just give a ten to hopefully raise the points.

This movie is a very unusual creation, a bit experimental but on an audience-friendly way. The dialogs were my favorites, they are very raw, very real life and absolutely hilarious. I guess most of those who voted it down must have not really understand this kind a humour. For me it was a bit British-humour-like, but still somewhat different. I would give an award for the creators, because this crazy and daring-kind a movie making were not present in Hungarian film making this far. Keep up the good work, guys!
