Kind of boring
stalking-divinity12 June 2011
I am normally a pretty big fan of the Retromedia late night softcore releases, but this one was a pretty big snoozefest.

Holly Sampson is attractive, and she put in an okay performance, but I think she's done better in some other stuff. Also, as a veteran hardcore girl, it's hard to get excited about her doing simulated stuff when you can see scenes of her going all the way.

Jessie Lunderby was really cute, fresh-faced, and overall I liked her a lot. She seemed a little bit timid in her scenes, but she's new. I wouldn't mind seeing her in more stuff in the future.

One thing I found kind of creepy was Randy Spears and Jessie Lunderby together in scenes. Randy is a decent actor, but he's really starting to get up there in years, and having scenes with a girl young enough to be his daughter is honestly a little weird. She's literally less than half his age, and it's kind of gross.

I thought the plot was pretty boring and there wasn't really much of a hook for this one. One of the things I really like about the Retromedia movies as compared to the MRG or Wynorski ones is that they're generally kind of fun, goofy, clever little sci-fi/horror/fantasy type plots. I found the setup in this one to be a lot more boring than most of the fairly creative parody or campy titles.

Lady Chatterly's Ghost
Scarecrow-8813 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Holly Sampson returns to softcore as a boozing, pill-popping wife to a successful businessman, Charles (porn veteran, Randy Spears, getting a bit too old in the tooth for sex romps) who gets carried away with a Lady Chatterly novel. Jessie Lunderby could be the titular character who is hired by Charles to be the mansion maid. Sampson's Sandra is slowly drawn to "Connie" (Lunderby), but continues to shoo away these burgeoning feelings, but how long can she hold out? Directed by Fred Olen Ray under a different name, this is as close to a hardcore film as I've ever seen from him. It's because Sampson and Spears have worked in both hardcore and softcore that they can perform without showing explicit activity forbidden by Cinemax. Spears, at 50 years old, has a sex scene with the much younger Lunderby (she seems uncomfortable—perhaps the character, perhaps her—when Spears propositions her as the wife has fallen asleep upstairs) which might be a bit icky unless you are excited by that sort of thing (the older man/younger woman sexual scenario). I won't lie, even though I was disappointed in the breast enhancements, I love Holly Sampson's "performances" in softcore movies (not so much in hardcore where she often goes overboard with the "slutty talk") and so the movie did alright for me in that regard, but she seems to be going through the motions compared to some of her earlier work around 2001. She still talks all dirty with the two men she sleeps with—the film opens with her banging the pool man—visiting Spears at work, hopping on his desk for a rumble. What I like about Holly is that she has a seductive quality about her that draws men to her (and, in some instances, women) and really provides her conquests with an incentive to "make her day". I don't mind a little "naughty talk", some motivation to her lovers to keep her satisfied, and this film has times during sex where she comments satisfactorily about how well they are doing, urging the men to "keep up the good work." I was a bit disappointed with the eventual lesbian encounter at the end as damned Spears shows up while the ladies are having sex, always a man having to ruin things.
