Warning: Spoilers
A Mediterranean cruise on a fabulous ship is the setting for this French comedy that we caught on a cable channel. Basically, the films shows an uninspired and tired formula that could not work here because it is heavy handed by its creators. There are a few laughs, but almost all the characters are stereotypes that gather on this cruise just because in the minds of the creators it probably felt much better than the finished product that came on the screen.

Directed by Pascal Pouzadoux, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jeanne Le Guillou, "La croisiere" is an attempt to comedy targeted for an audience searching for fun. The characters are paper thin and one dimensional at best. Charlotte De Turkheim, Marilou Berry, the eternally beautiful Line Renard, and Nora Arnezeder are the four women at the center of the story. Antoine Dulery is seen in the double role of Raphie/Raphael.

Luckily the cruise did not suffer the Titanic's fate, as it got back to the starting point!
