Plesantly Surprised
crussells12 December 2012
My wife and I decided to give this show a chance, we really didn't have high expectations as it airs on TBS on Saturdays. We were both pleasantly surprised, it's a funny light hearted show with something for everyone. I personally think the cast is great, most of the actors are people who were supporting actors on other shows I've enjoyed in the past so its nice to see them back on the screen.

I'd recommend giving it a couple of episodes before passing judgement, the pilot was funny enough to keep us watching and they do get better as they go on.

I really hope it makes the cut, this show is better than many currently running shoes. One major plus, there is no laugh track!

Great music in good stories
Little_C16 January 2013
OK, bare with me, because a) this is my first review here, and b) I'm not a native English speaker.

We (my wife and I) have seen 5 episodes so far, and the thing that stands out for me is that the stories are fun, lighthearted and for people who played in a cover band at times very recognizable. The lead singer who tries to pull all the girls, the goof-ball (in this case the drummer), the new guy (bass-player) and the guy who tries to keep the things in order (remarkebly the lead guitarist). Also the way the new guy gets initiated and taken into the band is funny and very true.

A hats off for the people who choose the music in the episodes; very cool songs, and very cool covers.

And for the people who don't like BAG; just try it, you won't be disappointed.

More Season Please!
bracentake23 April 2014
This series caught my eye and I instantly watch all episodes! Every episode is fun, witty and has cool music. I really enjoyed their cover songs, I could just sing along and dance with it. I told my boyfriend to watch and he liked it instantly too. We watched it twice already! The songs are very up beat and I'm even listening to it now. I like the music, the cast, the story line. Wedding band is one of the great show I've seen beside How I met your mother. Please bring it back! I want more seasons! This is a great show and should be given a real chance. One season is not justifiable. There are so many bands that can relate to this and even inspired others to have a band. I really love this show even if it's long and it actually made me laugh out loud.

Very entertaining, Glee for the mature crowd
suzcook6218 November 2012
I saw a nice review of this show in Entertainment Magazine and checked it with On Demand. It is funny, trendy and very enjoyable. I have been a Brian Austin Green fan since his days on Knots Landing in the '80s (totally showing my age!); Ha! I was also excited to see Melora Hardin (crazy Jan from The Office) and the rest of the cast is also great. It is getting difficult to find any shows on TV that are not full of blood and gore and this show is simply fun to watch and nobody gets hurt. There also seems to be a nice mix of familiar songs and well as some new, catchy tunes. This is a great show and I am looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully several seasons thereafter.

A show worth watching.
deannabarsness6 January 2013
Love this show . Funny, sweet and some cool tunes on top of it. Really cool how they change the songs to fit the couple, nationality etc. If nothing else just to watch Melora Hardin scare the hell out of everyone is worth it, along with her nightclub singing act and her choice of tunes. Laughed so hard when she sang "pussy pussy pussy" brilliant writing on that one. Would love to see her seduce Brian Austin greens character. I really enjoy the dancing at receptions. The Bollywood dance was so cool. Thats what I like about this show. You get the unexpected. Maybe they could start bringing in famous musicians and singers for guest appearances to sing with them once in awhile.

Love this show!
golfven2626 January 2013
Really liked this show. Great cast and story line. Very upset to hear it is cancelled. it was on a poor time slot to reach the targeted audience. TBS should seriously consider running this show on a different night. Will miss the laughs from this fantastic show. The show was interesting and not like any other on any network. The actors played fantastic roles. Most 18-49 year olds are not homebodies and usually are it at home to view this type of show on a Saturday night. Great show, poor planning by TBS. please consider re running this show. Maybe not so many repeats of other shows in order to make a better time slot. Would be a poor decision to cancel this show.

Wedding Band rocks!
jambalayaval5519 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This very funny show has great music too. Four guys who might never otherwise be friends are the house band for the stereotypical wedding/event planner - slash - party Nazi. They get to live out their adolescent fantasies: (semi) rock star status, hot and cold running groupies ... or at least the occasional bridesmaid, adventures and a paycheck to boot. The clients and their demands are as ridiculous as their counterparts on the reality bridal/Sweet 16/housewives shows. Some of these antics are actually true in the daily lives of event planners, but mostly it's just good fun (but not for a kiddie audience). Love the guest stars (like James Marsters), the outrageous capers (like grave robbing) and the band's occasion-appropriate costumes (like leiderhosen for Oktoberfest). You don't have to be a 14-year-old nerd boy to like this show! Hope it gets enough audience to stay on the air.

Guys are great women are so stiff and fake
auntiemsure4 December 2012
I Like the whole idea of the show. I was looking forward to its start but I almost felt awkward and uncomfortable watching the women in this show. The guys were fine and believable and the show is probably predominately written by men which explains the way the show plays out the way it does and I get that but if you want the show to appeal to both... The women were so fake and kind of stiff and uncomfortable, the general idea of the women has potential but it is not really believable. Unfortunately it ruined the whole show for me. I really wanted to like this show I will check out the next episode to see if this can be resolved. Really people it has the potential and I am sure real people have had many funny experiences concerning this.

All the pieces are there, however...
ergine31 December 2014
At first glance Wedding Band seems to have it it all. The concept is great, you even get a few laughs and the cover songs of the band are quite entertaining. But something is missing.

The completion of the characters fall short. While others work, most do not. Brian Austin Green in surprisingly good at comedy, but he lacks the proper sarcastic presence required for his leading perma-bachelor character.

The biggest shortcoming however is comedic timing and delivery. Great jokes are wasted in every other line. The 40 minute running length of each episode seems to be too long for this kind of comedy. Squeeze is down to a fast 25 minutes, hone your timing and you've got a proper show.

The series creators Lobis and Moiselle are still at the beginning of their careers and have yet to find their rhythm. Considering their inexperience this show is more of a hit than a miss.

great show
justme196313 January 2013
I love this show. I think it is great. I love the music they play and I like the way each week they are playing at a different type of gig and adapt to it. Brian Austin Green is great in the show and he isn't bad to look at! I look forward to the show each week. Sad that next week is season finale. I hope the show returns for a second season. All the guys on the show are talented and I am curious if they are all playing the instruments and if any of the tunes are original songs from Brian Austins Band. I could do without the woman playing Roxie, she is a bit annoying and really isn't very pretty. Regardless I will continue to watch the show as long as its on the air. I look forward to it each week.

Not very good
masterandoverlord27 November 2012
The first thing I'd like to note is that the official TBS storyline says "Centers on the bromance of four likable but occasionally reckless young men..." Um, since when is a 39-year-old man considered a "young" man? That's right Brian Austin Green is every bit of 39 and looks like it no matter how much makeup they put on him. I find it hard to believe that he's supposed to be the stud of the group. He definitely fits as the douche bag of the band. Secondly, the show would actually be more enjoyable without Green's wooden acting. He looks like a giant, ugly puppet on the show. Perhaps he went to the Kevin Costner/Samuel L. Jackson School of Non-Acting. The rest of the cast seem likable enough and don't look 40.

Fun characters in Fun show
SnoopyStyle26 September 2013
Four friends in their 30s are still playing in a wedding band. Tommy (Brian Austin Green) is the womanizing lead singer. Eddie (Peter Cambor) is the happily family man whose cop wife Ingrid (Kathryn Fiore) hates his weekend gigs. Barry (Derek Miller) is the quintessential drummer. Stevie (Harold Perrineau) is the newest member of the band. Roxie Rutherford (Melora Hardin) runs a wedding service, and Rachel (Jenny Wade) is her long suffering assistant.

This is a fun show with fun actors doing fun characters. They do some music every once in awhile. It's always a fun performance. They feel like a happy tight group. It's a fun show to watch.

Great Show
wmshill23 January 2013
I absolutely love it. I had to go back and watch earlier episodes! I don't remember how it caught my eye but it did. I have turned on other family members to it as well. It's worth giving a look. Great show, why they never made a series 2 I don't know?
martin-0704721 January 2016
This is definitely more of a "lads" show than for the ladies. It's a great "4-mates have a good time" show based around the fact they all play in a cover band together. It's a bit stereotypical in it's treatment of the women, although the 2 event organizers have strong roles, but it's really about the scrapes the guys get into and how deep-down they're good friends and try to do "the right thing". It's a feel-good series for men of a certain age (they're not young and not trying to be). There is some pathos about following your dreams and following convention, but ultimately it has a good heart and is funny in all the right places. Not always believable, but then what TV ever is. It's pure entertainment, light-hearted humour; usually directed inwards at the band themselves, and just a joyful series to watch.
