Originally an unfinished film by Corey Strong, one of my Michael Ray Fox's childhood friends, 'Why Vinnie Carponzo Hates Trains' was re-written, produced and directed by Fox when Strong decided not to finish it in 1999.
Corey Strong sold the rights to Michael Ray Fox for 1 bag of microwave popcorn and the understanding that Fox would give Strong "Story" credit.
Michael Ray Fox has directed several short and feature-length movies. "Why Vinnie Carponzo Hates Trains" (2009) was to be a feature-length follow-up to "Entherance Online" (2006), but several production complications resulted in the film being finished as a 35-minute short rather then the intended 80-minute feature.
The film went into production with the intent of it being feature-length but complications resulted in several scenes and characters being omitted. Rather then abandoning the feature film unfinished, Michael Ray Fox re-wrote and re-cut the film to fit into a coherent 35-minute film.
Plotlines that were cut from the full-length script included a love-story between Darren and a prostitute and a conflict between Darren's boss surrounding the bank robbery.
