Partners to finance, sell project set in 1940s Atlanta.
Lotus Entertainment, PaperChase Films and financier and executive producer Marco Vicini have teamed up to produce Superman Vs The Kkk.
The project is based on the novel Superman Versus The Ku Klux Klan by Rick Bowers, which was inspired by a true story during the summer of 1946 that the producers describe as The Departed meets Mississippi Burning with a touch of American Hustle.
The story will centre on a klansman who went undercover in Atlanta for the FBI and combined with the efforts of the Anti-Defamation League and the ‘Superman Radio Show’ to take on the Kkk. Katherine Lindberg is adapting from Bowers’s novel.
Newly arrived Lotus producer Marc Rosen, who serves as executive producer on the Wachowskis’ series Sense8, and PaperChase CEO Dillon Jordan negotiated the deal with Lotus vice-president of acquisitions Daniel Brandt.
PaperChase, Vicini, and Lotus will finance and sell the film.

Seventy-five years ago, The Shadow and Doc Savage made their four-color debut on January 21st, 1940 in Shadow Comics #1, which also featured the first comic book appearances of Nick Carter, Bill Barnes, Frank Merriwell, Iron Munro and a variety of other popular Street & Smith pulp characters.
With the possible exception of Walt Disney’S Comics & Stories, it is unlikely that any other comic magazine ever debuted with as many pre-proven famous characters. The Shadow had already starred in nearly 200 pulp novels and several films, while his weekly radio show had the highest audience ratings in daytime radio. Iron Munro was based on John W. Campbell’s novel The Mightiest Machine, one of the inspirations for Jerry Siegel’s Superman, and featured the exploits of a human born and raised under Jupiter’s high gravity who arrived on Earth to discover that his denser molecular structure gave him invulnerability, super strength and...

Ray William Johnson has threatened to sue Maker Studios should the multi-channel network not return his Adsense account, but Maker now has a much more immediate mess on its hands. According to a report in Variety, co-founder Danny Zappin and three others are suing the company, accusing its executives of breach of contract and fraudulently ousting Zappin as CEO. In May, Former Endemol boss Ynon Kreiz took control of Maker as the Executive Chairman, while Zappin relinquished the title of Maker's CEO and taking on an advising role as a member of the company's board. In a statement released after the hiring, Zappin sounded enthusiastic about Kreiz's new role at the top of the network, but that was obviously not the case. Along with fellow plaintiffs Scott Katz, Derek Jones, and Will Watkins, he now claims Maker diluted his stock in the company so that it could control the Board...

Frances Fisher may have joined ABC's new drama pilot Partners, but she'd really like to work on one of the network's other shows.
"Modern Family, of course," Fisher tells TVGuide.com. "[It's] very unique [with] well-drawn characters, well-played by very talented actors and insightful writing."
Check out photos of Frances Fisher
Fisher — best known for playing Kate Winslet's mom in Titanic and who can be seen next in The Lincoln Lawyer — is especially a fan of Sofia Vergara's and Julie Bowen's performances on the ABC hit. "Sofia's character — she ...
