Time has gone completely wrong, it's always 5.02 PM and people are alive that shouldn't be, including Winston Churchill.
This is possibly the most complex episode there has ever been, a lot is going on, there is too much going on, first time we've had a single episode finale, and it does feel rushed.
I love the tribute paid to Nick Courtney, the eye patches were a nice touch too. In times of trouble the first person the Doctor wanted to turn to, The Brig, Nice.
The elements I loved, the room of skulls left by the headless monks, very dark, almost Indiana Jones. The Silence monsters are fantastic. I love the visions of future Earth, some things are brilliantly realised. I'm all for a femme fatale, and Madame Kovarian is one of the ultimates, if only she was to appear again, great villain.
The main problem is that they tried to cram in too much into a single episode, there are parts of it that simply don't make any sense of any kind, why did Amy not know Rory, was River actually married? Did we actually believe the Doctor would die?
Series 6 has been extremely hit and miss, i've either totally loved - God Complex, girl who waited, or really loathed - The Almost People, Let's kill Hitler. Possibly the most patchy season so far, and it ended on a bit of a flat note.
Full of holes, asks more questions then it answers, bit of a mess, but some good elements. Possibly least epic finale to date. 6/10
