I loved this episode and thought the acting was spot on. I don't understand the complaints-this show is about the core group who make up Voights team. Their lives absolutely should be part of the plot! I love when an episode focuses on each person and then how they come together to solve the problem. Haters go watch something else!

Like another reviwer said.. so kim and adam investigating the case? Ahhh no
out of everyone involved in the case, kim and adam find the kid? Ahhh no
.. kevin, jay, kailey and voight pretty much hung around and did nothing during kim burgess show
i think this was the second or third time kim pulled the "im the mother so i set up the rules" on adam.. he should have given up already.. i wonder what kims reaction would be like if the situation had been the other way around.. she would be disappointed by his words and just drift away.. but adam keeps hanging around when he knows he got all the responsibilities as a father but no authority.. hell, it is pretty much like it is today in real life.. dude has got to bring the bacon but a woman screams rape and dude gets arrested and that is it..
anyway, after voight becoming a boyscout and jay becoming almost a bad dude... for some time... the show is getting annoying.. the females can do no wrong.. if the guys question their judgment they freak out but when it is the other way around and the guy gets emotional, the girls flip on them and tell them off..
probably time to pull the plug.. show has been pretty bad for a while now..

Adam is hurt busting through the door. The sergeant tells him to get treated at the hospital he refuses. In real life if a cop's injured on the job they're required to be treated.
The department is not going to allow him back in the field without medical treatment.
In real life, Adam and Kim would not be allowed to be in on this investigation. They are too close to it.
It is also interesting to know that with every police officer in the entire city of Chicago, including any state or county cop involved....
Kim finds the kid
Adam kills one of the kidnappers and beats down the other.
These two beat every cop inthe world to save the Day.
It's time for this stupidity to be canceled.

A dreadfully overacted silly episode showing great ignorance of police procedures. And with a touch of woke too. No police officer would be allowed to investigate the kidnapping of their own child. Ignoring such a fundamental conflict of interest renders this episode a bit of a joke. Series could not get much worse.

The worst Chicago PD episode ever. Hysterical over the top, Kim Burgess at her worst, Adam too... Kim is constantly shouting, Henk has lost control of his coworkers... if the purpose was to make those people appear more human, they failed. The coolness the team usually has (even when friends and family are involved) is gone in this episode.
Let Kim become a kindergarten teacher and Adam a traffic cop, or maybe a candidate at firehouse 51, but please.., never let us see something this again.

Weak episode. Kim Adam storyline is old and stale and should be resolved by now. Don't understand why writers keep dragging their relationship. They can better make Kim a single mom and that's it
Kim always screaming at Adam and Adam not moving on. It has happened for all seasons. And in real life no Adam would put up with that behaviour no matter how much he loves the woman.
Most disturbing part was Gabby gave her life defending the kid, and there is no mention of her sacrifice. If anything Adam blames her and himself for opening door on anyone.
Kim and Adam don't even care to bring her killer to justice. Granted Makayla is their child but it shows non human attitude towards Gabby.

It seems like they should rename it "The Kim Burgess Show". Hank, Jay, Kevin and Hailey are relegated to supporting cast now. The show and story lines have definitely gone down hill this season. I guess I will catch the reruns from the good old days.
I was actually hoping they would kill off the Makayla character so this story line can be done with and could could get back to this being a police procedural drama.

Seriously? Chicago PD is -was-one of the best shows on TV. Now it's descending into a soap opera with some of the worst "acting" I've ever seen.
Burgess and Ruzek just can't act. They're so bad, you could laugh-if it wasn't so pathetic. And the stories, scripts (they've got scripts??), directing...
Dick Wolf should be ashamed at the way that his prized show is being destroyed. What's even worse is that the rest of the actors are terrific.
Why waste time on having two bad actors who should be doing something else? Maybe McDonalds is hiring...
