- One of the detectives is extremely promiscuous and sleeps with many men. Each season has fairly graphic sexual scenes in some of the episodes and loads of kissing and sexual references, including child molestation, talks of masterbation, and rape.
- No nudity related to crimes is seen, all implied. One investigation involves a porn star (dildo's seen), one of the investigating officers has to watch the porn tapes, nothing is seen but can be heard.
- In series 3, one of the DC's is caught having sex with another officer. Mostly heard although they are walked in on by another officer. Seen in bra and pants.
Violence & Gore

- Some blood and gore is seen but it is mostly implied. Crime scenes, murder and rape are discussed in most episodes as this programme focuses on the Major Incident Team (MIT) of the police. One episode (SE1EP3) discusses rape during court scenes.
Profanity

- Some strong language "arse," "shit," "cunt," "piss," "fuck," "wanker," "dick," "cock," and "kike" respectively. Religious terms such as "god." All used during conversation or describing members of staff, boyfriend or suspects. Gestures also used.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Drug use discussed during cases. Alcohol is frequently seen. One of the main characters often drinks red wine and in one episode is seen drunk (looked after by her brother & friend. Another character jokes about the time that the DCI was drunk and ran topless around the garden at her birthday (mentioned in conversation). In series 4, the DCI is noted to have a drinking problem after suffering a major trauma at the end of series 3. This is sensitively handled.

- One episode revolves around the world of porn. During the investigation there's many suggestive posters and items (specifically a ballgag and dildo which are shown and referenced) one of the leads watches a mass amount of pirnography in an attempt to aid the investigation, there's one extended scene where we see a black male and white female engage in intercourse, there's full female nudity from behind and suggested male nudity. Also reference to the mans penis
