Elise (Valérie Kaprisky) and Gaspard (Anthony Debaeck) a Caucasian French couple
living in London have recently adopted a 22 month old Malian girl, Zalika (Farrah Davids-
Lyle). Through the eyes of Elise, the beginning of their journey with its joys and diffi culties
is distilled through small touches, exploring Elises struggle with insidious prejudices toward
her transracially adopted baby, even in the couples close circle, in contrast to the delicate
and poetic moments of shared intimacy and the nurturing of the fragile bond between
