Robert Bonine. one of Edison's peripatetic cameramen, takes a look at Waikiki long before Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon ever heard of it..... about a third of a century before they were born.
It already has the appearance of a middle-class resort, with folks in the water 00 some with surf boards -- and others walking about the grounds in their Edwardian finery. To fans of old movies, the most interesting thing about this movie is that at this point, a panorama shot -- or 'pan' in the modern sense -- seems to be a full 360-degrees sweep of the camera.
