A producer, writer, director and actor in his own film is a fool of the greatest magnitude ... the poor guy probably had delusions of making it to the big leagues but had zero talent, just like in this film ... as with all indies the blame is always placed on someone in the past that caused the train to run off the track ... when you have a chance at the bigs, sometimes a college education is more important ... go for the education ... ball games are childish extensions of your youth

Started strong, faded to a boring predictable slog

The minor league baseball scenes at the start hold potential. The main character, Ripley, has some decent baseball skills for an indie film. There seems to be a chance this could lead somewhere interesting. Then, it fades to my most disliked cliche... guy returns to small town hometown... everything has stayed perfectly frozen in time for our hero who doesn't want to return to the small town... the heavens open and everything perfectly aligns for our hero like can only happen in a small town in the movies... our hero resolves everything perfectly by the end, the entire town bends over backwards to accommodate our hero, and our hero rides off into the perfect small town sunset with no problems. Complete garbage, lazy film making.

Any baseball player that waggles his bat is not a serious hitter.. for righty hitters... left elbow up right elbow down, bat parallel to the ground ... the power comes from the stride which must begin before the ball reaches the bat ... a great batter can hit from both sides of the plate ... a smash to the gaps in the outfield coverage is always better than trying to swing for the fences ... power hitters strike out way more than a serious hitter ... a hitter that can get on first and steal second is a bigger threat to pitchers than the cleanup batter and they addle pitchers to distraction ..
