Morocco to Israel explores the personal stories of Moroccan Jews who emigrated to Israel between the establishment of Israel in 1948 and Morocco's independence from France in 1956. The Jews of Morocco found protection and lived peacefully among the Arabs for more than two thousand years. By the time of the establishment of Israel, the population of Jews reached over 250,000. Between the creation of the new Jewish state and domestic strife caused by the revolution in Morocco, huge masses of Jewish families had left. They moved quickly, and thousands even escaped illegally to help build Israel. This short documentary showcases the departure of Jews from Morocco through personal stories.
