- Riff, is a songwriter who walked away from his hit band Spyzone In 1987 just as they hit the big time. His new band, The Sunset Six have been rehearsing for 9 months without playing a single gig and the band is very restless. Theyve hitched their wagon to Riff's fading star and have expected much more, much sooner. But Riff has a secret pathological fear of playing live and hasnt written a good song since his last big hit twenty five years ago. The offer of a potential record deal sends the band into a spin, bringing out everyones dirty secrets, resentments but also their unexpected talents, and in the course of a nights practice they finally become the band they dream of being.
