A fighting anime about the financial crisis!
Tweekums27 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Something isn't quite right in Japan; people's finances are failing and many people are committing suicide. One person affected is nineteen year old Kimimaro Yoga, a student whose father has vanished and whose own finances aren't great... one day things change for him; a strange man offers to make him well off. Of course there is a catch; he must put his future up as collateral and once a week he must go to the 'Financial District' and do battle with other people such as himself. The Financial District is outside normal reality and in his battles he is assisted by his Asset Msyu, a horned girl who develops a taste for noodles! The battles aren't regular fights either; the combatants use their assets to create what is effectively a magical attack. When he returns he starts to notice that mixed in with regular money there is black 'Midas Money' which everybody else seems to see as regular Yen... and as the story progresses he sees the world change around him; people, buildings and even whole countries vanish, all apparently because of "C", the thing that controls the world's various Financial Districts. As the end approaches it is up to Kimimaro to save the future.

This was a reasonably entertaining anime although I'd have preferred a bit more explanation and a bit less fighting although that is just personal taste. The characters were pretty good; I especially liked Msyu; she was somewhat more sympathetic than Kimimaro. The animation looked good and it was nice to see that there were real world consequences to Kimimaro's actions which he had to come to terms with rather than just having a hero who always made things better. I wouldn't consider this a must- see series but at only eleven episodes it doesn't waste too much time if you don't like it.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.
