One day, Reid ventures into the forest in pursuit of his prey, where he meets the beautiful bard, Corina. She informs him of a "Haunted Swamp" nearby and warns him to stay away from there.
Reid learns that Maronne is a professional monster hunter. The two are headed to the maritime city of Belcagne, which consists of many large and small islands with Verka as its capital.
Belcagne is hit with a high demand for boats, causing the price of wood to skyrocket, and the group finds they don't have enough money for the materials.
Farah, Maronne, Meredy and Corina decide to look for a hot spring while Keele and Reid decide to investigate the ruins, and Keele finds the very same object, that Reid found on the ocean floor, on an altar in the town.
Keele and Meredy, who were conducting research in the library, happen to catch a glimpse of Reid from the window and, in the moonlight, notice two figures approach Reid from behind
The leader of the "Gospel of Nereid" steals the Greater Craymels. Reid and the others decide to flee to an uninhabited island where they can safely hide.
The Gospel of Nereid, after obtaining the Greater Craymels, prepare to launch an all-out attack on Inferia under the command of their leader, the Golden Mask.
Reid and the gang are stunned by the sheer power of the Craymel Cannon and as they stand awestruck, they see it adjusting its course to fire upon Inferia's castle.
