Unbelievable
afriendofmayhem3 August 2022
Thich is who moved me to study Buddhism. I've read 6 of his books now, and they have changed everything about my life. I cried happily for atleast 3/4 of this wonderful film. Such a beautiful human:)

Why didn't it mention that he was vegan?

Thich Nhat Hanh was an outspoken vegan, even saying things like, "I am determined not to kill, not to let others kill, and not to support any act of killing in the world. We should consume in such a way that helps to reduce the suffering of living beings. And that way we can preserve compassion in our hearts." Why didn't this 27-minute biography of him mention it once? It was very fundamental to who he was as a person, as well as how he said we should interact with our fellow sentient beings.

Consistent with Thich Nhat Hanh's teaching, veganism should be a massive part of Buddhism. If we're going to be reincarnated into another sentient being when we die, why should we be allowed to pay for the torture and killing of sentient beings when we are alive in this human form?
