Some subtlies but mostly strongheaded

Interesting interwoven series raising some question on the Japanese pathologist and police procedures. The series centers on 2 main female leads and how their work and friendship develops over time.

The story entails a strong headed pathologist joining a university department. She has strong opinions, steps over boundaries and is in an unconventional Japanese female role. However her strong work ethics inspires and motivates others around her to some degree. She is married with 1 kid and the show goes on to show the cost of having this determination and how this wears on her family. Nicely balanced.

The other part of the story is carried on the police side by a more traditional female character. But before long the 2 becomes friends and a united front to criminal undoings. This culminates to a climatic case where (in many Japanese shows) political influence and corruption is implied. I can see the twist coming miles away, but nonetheless, the other, more human parts of the show more than made up for this short fall.

Nicely done but not exceptional.
