As the anniversary of Jennifer Lopez's sixth studio album "Love?" approaches, it's a fitting time to reflect on this album's significance within J Lo's career, its impact on fans, and its continued relevance in light of her recent endeavors.
Released on April 29, 2011, "Love?" came at a time when Lopez was already a multifaceted force in entertainment. Music, film, and fashion-she'd conquered them all. Yet, "Love?" transcended mere career markers. It delved into love, a theme central to Lopez's personal narrative.
This wasn't just an album; it was a declaration. Through "Love?" Lopez explored her own quest for love and fulfillment. The title track, "(What Is) Love?" beautifully captures this yearning. Lopez laid bare her vulnerabilities through her music, creating an emotional connection with her audience. Take the poignant question - "Is this just a dream / Is this what it seems?" - which echoes a longing for validation, her desire to be someone's girlfriend,...

Jennifer Lopez is one of the biggest stars in the music landscape. With several chart-topping albums and singles and an acting career, Lopez is among the most influential A-listers in Hollywood. Yet, despite releasing an album, a movie, and a documentary recently, Lopez’s popularity has dwindled in recent years.

Not many would consider it hard labor to stand in the shadow of Jennifer Lopez. Few, perhaps, could stand as still and as long as documentary filmmaker Jason Bergh.
For nearly a decade, Bergh has recorded the multi-hyphenate star behind the scenes as she has charted new paths as a content producer and beauty mogul, and danced her way onto America’s biggest stage — the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Last month, Bergh took his loftiest seat at J. Lo, Inc. by serving as director for “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” a much-discussed documentary about the making of Lopez’s 2024 visual album “This Is Me … Now.”
Imposingly tall and excessively kind, Bergh has been a gentle giant in the unscripted space for years. He’s directed episodic and short content on notable music figures like Alicia Keys and athletes Stephen Curry and Clay Matthews. After the dust settled on “Greatest Love Story,...

Back in 2013, Lil Jon famously pushed back against the very idea of meditation with his hit song “Turn Down for What,” but the King of Crunk has changed his tune. Today, he’s released a guided meditation album called Total Meditation.
Speaking about the project in an interview with Rolling Stone, Lil John explained: “Once I turned 50, a lot of things started to happen. I started going through a divorce. I’m separated right now. Going through that and all of the emotions of the divorce—anger and frustration and all of the ups and downs — I found meditation to calm me and to bring me more at peace; to look at life and situations in a different manner. I really got into meditating and saying my affirmations every day and also into manifestation. All of that tied together.”

In the summer of 2022, Netflix released “Halftime,” a glossy, shiny, and intermittently revelatory documentary focused on global icon Jennifer Lopez. That offering found unexpected (if highly unrelatable) pathos in the star’s distress over not being nominated for an Oscar for her (quite good) turn in “Hustlers.” Just twenty months later, and yet another streamer is now releasing its own glossy, shiny, and intermittently revelatory film project focused on global icon Jennifer Lopez. The pathos, though? That’s mostly missing, but certainly not for lack of trying.
The project comes from the mind of Lopez herself, who also co-financed the effort. It’s clunkily titled (and punctuated) as “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story,” linking it inextricably with Lopez’s latest studio album, which just so happens to be dropping the same day as its “cinematic” component. Synergy!

Usher’s performance next month during halftime of Super Bowl Lviii on CBS is getting an extra promo push from Apple – with a retro flourish.
The tech giant, which took over from Pepsi last year as the lead sponsor of the halftime show, has released a one-minute trailer (watch it above) titled “30 Years in the Making.” Set to the pop star’s 2004 hit “Yeah,” the trailer shows a range of clips of fans, street musicians, a church choir along with recognizable figures like NBA star LeBron James, Colombian singer-rapper J Balvin and BTS singer Jungkook. The main track pulses recognizably, but is mixed with flute, classical piano, choral versions and grainy camcorder footage of kids singing and Usher at a recording-studio mixing board.
The “30 years” tag refers to the long arc of the 45-year-old singer’s career, which began when he joined an R&b group in his native Dallas...

Welcome to another rundown of every stat released by the TV insights company Samba TV. Below, we’ll run through all their released viewing stats (whether through their socials or through somewhere else) for Netflix’s newly released movies for the past three years.
How does Samba TV get its data? As described on its own website, the company tracks what appears on the users’ TV by reading pixels and utilizing this data for personalized recommendations on the TV or mobile apps connected to the television.
It’s also important to note that Samba TV stats typically only cover US households.
Of course, Netflix itself releases excellent viewing stats every Tuesday via its top 10 site. However, more data is always good, and it’s good to see shows and movies benchmarked against each other from a company like Samba TV.

Some folks weren’t as thankful as they should’ve been for Dolly Parton’s halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game last week. But her younger sister Stella Parton came to her defense in a scathing tweet Sunday (November 26th), calling out those who weren’t pleased with our recent cover star rocking a cheerleader costume.
“I personally thought my big sister Dolly was cute as hell in her Dallas Cowboys cheerleading costume at the half time show on Thanksgiving,” Stella wrote. “To those of you being so critical of a 77 year old kicking up her heels, I say fuck yourself. Shame on you not her.”
In the middle of the Cowboys’ turkey game showdown against the Washington Commanders, Dolly sang classics like “Jolene” and “9 to 5” as well as covers of Queen’s “We Are the Champions” and “We Will Rock You” in support of her new album Rockstar.

More than ever, rock stars were TV stars in 2023 — in the form of subjects for television documentaries — and so were their brethren in pop, hip-hop, K-pop and Latin music. Some of these TV films or docuseries were vanity projects used to promote new albums, of course; others started off as “making of” projects and ended up catching a star in a moment of real psychological crisis. It wasn’t all cinema verité; historical overviews capturing the full breadth of an artist’s career or even a genre still had their place in the pop-doc landscape.
Four films or limited series stand out in the subgenre of docs that were initially commissioned to capture an album or tour and, through circumstances, evolved into something deeper or darker. “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me” (Apple TV+) was going to be a tour documentary, but then, when an emotional breakdown caused her to pull off the road,...

The four panelists on “The Masked Singer” are having a hard time narrowing down the identity of the secret celebrity hiding inside the Medusa costume. The snake-haired villainess performed a pitch-perfect rendition of “Happier Than Ever” during the season premiere and left the judges “speechless.” She returned in Episode 2 with “Dancing Queen” and won the crown yet again. Medusa then performed “New York, New York” in Episode 3, but lost the vote to California Roll, however she was saved by the “Ding Dong Keep It On” Bell and won the comeback competition. She then advanced from the quarter-finals and the semi-finals, which means she will appear in the season finale. Do You know who she is? Read on for the judges’ “The Masked Singer” Medusa guesses.

While the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards weren't held live on May 7, some of Hollywood's biggest stars still got their moment during the prerecorded show. In the lead-up to Sunday, the ceremony planned for Barker Hangar in Los Angeles was scrapped amid the Writers Guild of America strike. Host Drew Barrymore stepped back from the gig in support of the striking writers, and the decision to do without a red carpet closely followed. Heading into the weekend, it was confirmed that the event would not be held in its original form.
Still, big names accepted their popcorn trophies through video clips, including Tom Cruise, who was piloting a plane while expressing his gratitude for his win for best performance in a movie for "Top Gun: Maverick."

James Corden is getting honest about his post-Late Late Show steps, admitting to some uncertainty about his future and revealing hopes to return to the theater.
“There’s loads of things I’d love to do, but they’re very reliant on people wanting me to do them,” Corden said at a PaleyFest event in Los Angeles on Sunday, where he took part in a panel alongside Late Late Show executive producers Ben Winston and Rob Crabbe, in a conversation that was moderated by Bryan Cranston. He added, “I think it’s going to be really important to take a breath and take a minute” to decompress from the last eight years, and with plans for his family to move back to England this summer.

According to Fox, the 2023 Super Bowl ratings are in, and the telecast scored 113 million viewers, achieving a six-year-high in viewership and making it the third-most-watched television show of all time.

Rihanna returned to the live stage for a performance at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show, and boy, was it worth the wait.
The Barbados-born pop singer didn’t hold back one bit during her career-spanning set, playing some of her biggest hits — “Umbrella,” “We Found Love,” and “Diamonds” — alongside standout features on “All of the Lights” and “Run This Town.” Making the breathtaking performance even more impressive is the fact she did so while pregnant. A baby bump was visible throughout her performance, and afterwards a representative for the singer confirmed that she is indeed expecting her second child.
Clad in a red jumpsuit, Rihanna showed no fear as she was lowered down to the stage on a floating platform to open the performance. Choreographed dancers surrounded Rihanna when she touched down, and though the superstar obviously wasn’t able to move as freely as she would otherwise, she still held her own.

Rihanna hasn’t toured since 2016, but on Sunday during the Jay Z-produced spectacle that is the Super Bowl Lvii Halftime Show the Good Girl Gone Bad singer put on a tour de force.
Filling her less-than-15-minute set with an array of hits, floating platforms, club dance floor dynamics and spectacle, the second best-selling female artist of all time owned the field at State Farm Stadium with near pure superstar swagger.
Pushing the high-profile slot to new technological and Olympian heights, Rihanna was pure solo. With a catalog full of work with the likes of the aforementioned Jay-Z, Eminem and Drake over the decades, the “Umbrella” singer teased guest stars earlier this week, but it was all hype because when it came showtime, Rihanna did the job all on her own with only a legion of dancers as sidekicks in a performance that was totally 2023.

Rihanna just revealed that fans should expect a “jampacked’ Super Bowl Halftime Show that celebrates the superstar’s 17-year-long music career on Sunday.
Her much-anticipated performance comes after a nearly seven-year-long break from music and becoming a new mother to her son with Asap Rocky.
During a news conference for the half-time show, Rihanna confessed that she was hesitant upon being offered to do the show, “I was like, ‘Are you sure? I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this.’”
But despite not having been on tour since her 2016 album Anti, Rihanna believes that performing at the Super Bowl “could have only been now.”
“When you become a mom there’s something that happens where you feel like you can take on the world and can do anything. The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world.
