Psychological Thriller
anonymous-0746914 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A decently good movie. Not as good of production as of the big name horror films but it was still very well made. The movie has old and big time actors like Edward Furlong, Shelley Duvall, and others. Mixed with newer lesser known actors like Chiko Mendez and Wes Lee. I would label this movie as a Psychological Thriller as the main character suffers from brain trauma and is forced to believe he is a werewolf. This movie has a lot of comical scenes as any movie with connections to Kevin Smith would have. And be on the look out for a part two starring Chiko Mendez, Wes lee, and potentially many more big named actors.

Great cast

Warning: Spoilers
Directed and written by Scott Goldberg and produced by Kevin Smith, The Forest Hills follows Rico (Chiko Mendez), who has been battling mental health issues since he was struck on the head somewhere in the middle of the Catskills. He has no idea what is a dream and what is reality, but he's sure of one thing: he's a werewolf. And Billy (Edward Furlong) keeps trying to convince him to transform.

The cast is the real draw here, as the film brings together werewolf actress par excellence Dee Wallace, slasher queen (and mangled dick expert) Felissa Rose, scream queen Debbie Rochon, Stacey Nelkin (Halloween III), Marianne Hagan (Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers) and, most amazingly, Shelley Long, who returned to acting to be in this movie to play Rico's mother. Marc Summers from Double Dare even shows up!

With a mix of both psychological and actual horror, The Forest Hills is an intriguing movie filled with practical effects. Goldberg also made a short film by the same name in 2007 in which content creators Michelle and Elaine Torrance -- do you think he likes The Shining? -- seek the urban legend of the Forest Hills in Prestonsfield, Kentucky.

This is great, Edward and Shelley rock!!!!

Oh how i have missed miss Shelley Duvall, i love that she is returning to acting again, she has such a great talent, i love all here movies and she's still got it.

Also who remembers when Edward Fulong was John Conner in Terminator 2, when i heard he was doing this movie together with Shelley Duvall, i mean i was so excited and i was right.

This movie is a must watch, i will not give any spoilers, but this movie is a true gem, if you like outdoorsy movies, with a low key setting, truly highlighting the talents of all the actors, then this is a must watch. I hope Edward Furlong and Shelley Duvall make a lot more movies soon. Please watch!!!
