By interviewing a handful of experts from universities and non-profit development agencies around the State of Michigan, Heartland aims to address current developmental problems in Detroit by first discussing Detroit's storied history, the events that fueled suburbanization in the Detroit Metro area, then discussing current problems Detroit faces in its quest to revitalize, and concluding with suggestions from experts on how to rework the city's political, economic, and social structure to accurately address the city's problems. This straight forward film will blast you with information, and is produced in a very simple way so that the audience may be exposed to raw facts, data, and opinions.
