The producer (Kristine Barker), director (Tanya Musgrave), and cinematographer (Heather Dappalonia) spent the night on-set during production to help secure equipment.
Julenne (Jess) had never acted on-screen before this film. She had experience in minor skits at summer camp, but this was her first (she was discovered when she was giving her testimony at church). The director approached her at a softball game and shortly after, Julenne auditioned for the role of Jess.
A good portion of the short was filmed at night, so to make it look like day, a 1200 Watt HMI light and a 4K light were aimed into the windows. The house was near the University, and several of the miffed neighbors turned out to be classmates.
Julenne (Jess) is a cancer survivor. She battled Ewing Sarcoma for a year and a half and has been in remission for a year and a half now. (Dec 2011)
The director and producer actually have brief cameos. If you look at the photos Jess is removing, you'll see one with the three of them climbing on a fence at a softball field.
