Early corny chimp comedy spoof of Trader Horn.
The capsule review of Africa SQUAWKS in the Film Daily of August 2nd, 1931, p.11, reads: "An interesting and very amusing travesty on the 'Trader Horn' theme. The leading player is a book agent selling a volume on African adventures. As he goes about from house to house he gets into various scrapes, the principal one being a flirtatious mix-up with a feminine chimp whose pop raises quite a rumpus when he finds the book peddler has stolen a pair of his pants. There is a good old-fashioned chase and other action of the slapstick variety, all followed by human voices, with the effect as a whole proving ace comedy entertainment for any audience."
Personally, I found it dumb.
