While the Own network has become increasingly removed from the inspirational, self-help vibe of "Oprah" thanks, at least in part, to Tyler Perry and Lindsay Lohan and a raft of reality TV programming, Oprah Winfrey is taking her show (namely "Super Soul Sunday" and "Oprah's Lifeclass") on the road. Winfrey has announced the Fall 2014 launch of "Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend," an eight-city arena tour and "transformational weekend" featuring Oprah Winfrey and a team of special guests. While most arena tours are sponsored by beer brands, Winfrey's are more fitting for her middle-aged mom demo -- Olay and Toyota. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning April 7 at 10 a.m. local time at www.oprah.com/tour. “All of my life I have wanted to lead people to an empathy space. To a gratitude space,” said Winfrey. “I want us all to fulfill our greatest potential.

In addition, the hilarious Kevin Hart took home Entertainer of the Year, while Oprah Winfrey paid tribute to the late Nelson Mandela with a touching speech and musical dedication.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group has announced the five digital media programs that have won this year's crop of Creative Arts Emmys. Among the usual suspects (online TV companions, TV channel mobile apps, etc.), one plucky YouTube series stands out: The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. The Streamy winner added the Emmy for Original Interactive Program to its trophy case, becoming one of the most popular web series to ever win an Emmy statuette. Lizzie Bennet's transmedia elements--including its characters Twitter accounts and the entire world created around the series and its spinoffs--play crucial roles in securing the Emmy. Last year's Original Program, Dirty Work, also included copious viewer interaction, and the Academy seems inclined to reward online programs that successfully turn storytelling into a game, and thanks in large part to its rabid, active fanbase, Lizzie Bennet seamlessly pulled off that fusion. Three other digital programs...

In his new book, "Life Code," Dr. Phil McGraw reveals his actionable rules for succeeding in the real world. It's not about sitting around and waiting for your patience to be rewarded, Dr. Phil says. Rather, to be successful in today's climate, you have to go after what you want, actively protect yourself against the toxic people who want to bring you down and, as he puts it, become the star in your own life.
Becoming the star in your own life is about putting yourself first and going after what you want and need in life, Dr. Phil says in this clip from "Oprah's Lifeclass." But is being the "star" really an appropriate aspiration or is it just another excuse to be selfish?

Mean girls aren't just confined to the silver screen. Like the toxic ladies in the "Mean Girls" movie, real-life mean girls manipulate, take advantage and put you down. Dr. Phil McGraw, author of the book "Life Code", has seen both extreme and not-so-extreme examples of this toxic behavior. Regardless of where someone falls on the "mean" spectrum, Dr. Phil says they are still BAITERs (Backstabbers, Abusers, Imposters, Takers, Exploiters and Reckless) you must protect yourself from. But... how?
This is the question posed by a woman named Mendissa during a taping of "Oprah's Lifeclass" with Dr. Phil. Mendissa tells Dr. Phil that she keeps attracting mean girls and wants to know how she can continue to be a nice person without her toxic friends mistaking that for weakness. Part of her struggle, she says, comes from the fact that her mean-girl friends don't always seem evil.
"Are people really that bad?...

Washington, May 15: Have you ever felt that you have a toxic friend, a family member or partner in your life?
Dr. Phil McGraw, author of the book "Life Code," says that the world is full of toxic people he calls BAITERs (Backstabbers, Abusers, Imposters, Takers, Exploiters and Reckless) and that evil people are all around us.
The key to protecting yourself from BAITERs, the psychologist and talk show host says, is to know how to spot them.

First on the list is Entitlement.

Oprah says that, in America, there's a widespread epidemic harming our sons: Too many young boys are growing up without fathers. One in three children live apart from their biological fathers, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Many "fatherless sons" spend their childhoods (and adulthoods) feeling angry, conflicted and unworthy of love. But what if America's sons didn't have to grow up in homes without their fathers? What difference could it make?
One male celebrity who says having his father around made a difference in his life is NBA player Dwyane Wade. In this clip from a special two-hour episode of "Oprah's Lifeclass" on the epidemic of fatherless sons, Dwyane shares the story of his childhood -- and reveals how his father's presence kept him from turning down the wrong path.

Cutting all ties with a toxic partner, family member or friend is easier said than done. But Dr. Phil McGraw, author of the new book "Life Code," says that it's extremely important to know not just when but how to cut your losses and remove that toxic person -- a "Baiter," as he puts it -- from your life. (Baiter, as can be seen in the clip, is an acronym for Backstabbers, Abusers, Imposters, Takers, Exploiters and Reckless.)
In this clip from "Oprah's Lifeclass," Dr. Phil shares his foolproof method for cutting toxic people out of your life for good -- even when the toxic person is an old boyfriend or ex-husband and temptation is trying to persuade you to do otherwise. It all comes down to one important ability: trusting your gut.

Are you living a lie? Harboring a secret life? Pretending to be someone you're not? You’re not alone.
In this clip from "Oprah's Lifeclass," Oprah admits that, in the past, even she struggled with expressing her true self. Several years ago, however, she came to realize that living under any kind of pretense can have lifelong consequences. "If you in any way are... pretending to be something that you are not, you will never, ever become all that you were meant to be," she says in the clip. "It just cannot happen."
When you are able to live your truth, Oprah says, the rewards are monumental. "Being able to be myself in front of all of you has been one of the great gifts of my life. To be able to be truthful, to say whatever was going on in my life," she says.
But Oprah wasn't always so comfortable with being herself.

When I recently met author, strategist and coach Tony Robbins backstage at a taping of Oprah Winfrey's ground-breaking series Lifeclass, the first thing I was struck by was his sheer size. He is a somewhat startling six-feet-seven, yet he comes across like a loving, gentle giant, and when he talks to you he gives you his full magnetic attention. He is known for being an exuberantly charming, inspiring, energetic and articulate speaker and is also a huggably nice, caring person and a generous humanitarian. The New York Times calls Tony Robbins "the high priest of human potential." In the course of his impressive career, he has advised a diversity of luminaries including Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev, Margaret Thatcher, Mother Teresa and three U.S. presidents, and CEOs, Olympic athletes and individuals all over the world regularly consult with him for his guidance. Countless more people have been transformed by his extensive selection of books,...

It's not every day Radio City Music Hall temporarily closes down its men's bathroom. But that's exactly what happened when Oprah Winfrey decided to film two episodes of her Lifeclass series at the famous theater in New York City. My adventure started when I got the email from the Own team inviting me to attend the tapings of Oprah's Lifeclass: The Tour featuring two charismatic guest teachers -- spiritual wise man Deepak Chopra, who taught the afternoon show about tapping into your spiritual side (which will air on Own on April 23) and charismatic life coach Tony Robbins, who taught the evening live show about living fearlessly.
When I first got to the theater, I was escorted backstage, downstairs to the brightly lit Rockettes dressing room, to convene with about ten other journalists, and then taken into a small room next door for an intimate meet-and-greet with Tony Robbins. We...

Oprah kicked off 2012 with the launch of her new primetime show, "Oprah's Next Chapter." The two-hour special premiered Sunday night on Own, and featured an extensive interview with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler at his home in New Hampshire.
Tyler sat down with Oprah to talk about love, regret, sex, lead singer syndrome, and more. Oprah asked Tyler if he was "a good person to be married to," and if he was "irresponsible." Tyler admitted that he "abandoned" his first wife and daughter, Mia, to go on tour. "My heart is still broken that I did that," Tyler said of leaving his first wife and daughter.
Tyler also gave Oprah a tour of his New Hampshire home on Lake Sunapee. The two ventured out into the woods, which Tyler called his "sacred place." They observed "the stillness," and raved about the beauty found in the middle of the woods. "This is beauty to me,...

Los Angeles -- Oprah Winfrey earned the rare opportunity to convert her media charisma into a monogramed TV channel. Now she's the one tasked with rescuing Own, the Oprah Winfrey Network, after a disappointing first year.
It's a high-stakes, potentially ego-shattering challenge that could make the strongest woman or man flinch. But win or lose, Winfrey says she relishes the fight to turn Own's fortunes around.
"Yes, some mistakes were made. Who hasn't made mistakes? The real beauty is you can say, `I learned from that,'" Winfrey said. "I don't worry about failure. I worry about, `Did I do all I could do?'"
The cable channel, which marks its first year Jan. 1, is trying for a fresh start after executive turnover and missteps that proved Own lacked a solid foundation on which to build, this despite a Discovery Communications investment of a reported $250 million and counting.

It's not so hard to get in touch with Oprah Winfrey. For the past few weeks, viewers who've followed the former Queen of Daytime into prime time on her eponymous cable network have found themselves able to engage in real-time conversations with Winfrey via Skype, Facebook and Twitter during the nightly series Oprah's Lifeclass (Monday-through-Friday, 8/7c, Own).
During the live part of last Friday's show, which filmed in Los Angeles, a young man named Harel beamed in via Skype from Israel to ask Winfrey herself for some advice; simply, he'd been having a bit of an existential crisis. She shared her own thoughts on giving back and then read him a comment from a Facebook user

London, Oct 9: Chat queen Oprah Winfrey is apparently preparing a 15 million dollars relaunch for her struggling television network, just 10 months since its inception, after its prime-time viewership tumbled by more than one third.
The one-time queen of daytime television, who retired from 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' on CBS in May, after 25 years, is to launch an advertising blitz and take a bigger on-screen role in her new cable channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network, in an attempt to win back lost ratings.
She will be stepping up her role in 'Oprah's Lifeclass', a nightly programme resurrecting old episodes.

As you might imagine, it's good to have Oprah Winfrey in your corner. With her show "Our America with Lisa Ling," former "The View" co-host Lisa Ling has been able to explore a wide variety of challenging topics in-depth without network pressure to condense material to snippets. Most importantly, Ling has scored a high profile timeslot for her show on Own, following Oprah's own "Oprah's Lifeclass" ("Our America"'s second season debuts Sun. Oct. 16 at 10 p.m. on Own). Still, the intrepid journalists acknowledges that the fledgling network hasn't exactly taken over basic cable, even with the Oprah stamp of approval....
