Sex & Nudity

  • A young boy is briefly seen naked in a village during a montage. His genitals are very visible.
  • During the "Me gusta mi medicina" sequence, one lyric says (in Spanish) "I'm addicted to sex." As the singer sings this, the camera cuts to and zooms in on magazines of a sexual nature, though nothing can really be made out as the cut is brief and stylistically manipulated.

Violence & Gore

  • Young people in costume swing around a pole with only a rope attached to their feet. It's harrowing, but it's a cultural, non-violent thing.
  • Talks of resistances and scenes of protests, but there's no violence in the film.

Profanity

  • One song uses "Fuck" several times. Though the song is in Spanish, the word is spoken in English when used.
  • Another song says "pussywhipped" at least twice.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • During the "Me gusta mi medicina" scene, there are shots of cocaine being divided and then snorted up paper line by line. We do not see who is snorting the drug.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The visual style of the documentary and the aggressiveness of some of the artists may make some viewers uncomfortable. However, nothing in the film is scary as it is about the identity of Mexico.
