As charming as the title promised it to be
TheLittleSongbird30 May 2012
Barbie: Princess Charm School is never going to be one of my favourite movies, but especially for its target audience it is very charming. It does have some moments of corny dialogue(though most of it has some nice humour that children and adults alike will appreciate), and I do miss Kelly Sheridan, who was always likable and was getting better every time. However, the animation is lovely, fluid and colourful with attention to detail that was most welcome. The music fits perfectly, and is memorable also, and the story is told very nicely with as always a good message and charming as it should be. The characters are on the clichéd side, but likable in alternative to annoying(it's when clichés are annoying when I mind). The voice acting I had little to no problem with. Overall, charming and well-done, not my favourite Barbie movie but despite Sheridan's absence is up there with the better ones. 8/10 Bethany Cox

A charming classic
rubidiummoon21 November 2021
Princess Charm School is definitely one of the better Barbie movies. It has great characters, a good story, amazing visual quality, and amazing voice acting. It's got the likes of Nicole Oliver, Diana Kaarina, and more. It really works well as a whole. Is it predictable? Sure. A little corny? Sure, but it's a true classic and one that is a must watch in the Barbie franchise.

Best Barbie movie?
ericstevenson8 July 2018
A lot of people don't even realize the sheer number of Barbie movies there are out there. Well, I'm usually referring to the ones made in the 2000's. It seems like every direct to video animated movie is traditionally animated. It's nice to see something different. This is ranked as the best Barbie movie ever made, which isn't really saying that much. Barbie plays some woman named Blair.

Odd she'd play someone when she's already a character. She wins a contest to go to a princess school and they actually do set up the story pretty well. It's revealed that she's a missing princess herself and the rightful heir to the throne. There's this rich girl bully who redeems herself by revealing she's only that way because of her parents. That must be a trope. Not the most original idea, but it is pretty good. **1/2

460th Review: My three girls loved this: their favorite movie since Tangled
intelearts14 October 2011
I'm going to give this a 9, not for its standing in the history of cinema, but for the simple fact that it made my three girls really, really happy - and it has good values without being prissy about it.

For girls under the age of 10 it really is entertaining.

The plot is appealing - a girl, Blair Willows, wins a lottery ticket to the Princess Charm School, and discovers her inner strength.

All I can say is we all watched this as a family movie night, and we adults normally phase out fast, but both my wife and I really enjoyed this thoroughly and the kids just loved it - it's fun, and funny, and exciting and even though you know the tie-ins are there it actually stands up as a good kids film in its own right.

Charming? You betcha.

Barbie: Princess Charm School
neenahhh27 December 2011
Blair Willows is chosen for a scholarship at Princess Charm School. She must work hard in order to graduate and become a competent royal lady-in-waiting. However, there are people who want to see her fail and will do anything to make sure that happens. These people also know a big secret about Blair..

I am not part of the target range of this movie, but it did appeal to me. The innocence of the movie was nice, for what it's worth. It kept me entertained while I was bored. I'm sure any young girl who is a fan of a.) Barbie, b.) fairies or c.) pretty dresses, will like this movie.

Portia is my Spirit Animal
VOIDDESI1 October 2022
At first, I thought it was just another Barbie movie. The same old introduction opening with montage music which just screams: movie from the 2000s. A generic premise we have seen in so many Princess movies before: "The princess was in you the whole time." And the movie even commits to the trope in the end. But truly or just as a subversion?

Midway into the first act, the movie introduces concepts, such as slavery and Portia. It unravels into a rollercoaster of emotions and plot twists, which would just simply fly over the head of any underdeveloped toddler trying to watch a movie such profound as Barbie: Princess Charm School.

This movie is a philosophical masterpiece in disguise. And it will keep you thinking, even days after your initial viewing. What did Porta mean by "Floorcake"? Where did the other fairies disappear to in the third act, were they committing war crimes? And are things truly real, when you can not imagine them?

Anyway, I am returning into your walls.

The first time I've seen this movie was around when I was 8 and it's my favorite Barbie movie since.I think it's really entertaining. Now I'm 14 and I don't like Barbie movies too much, but the older ones including this are definitely my favorites.Sometimes I even think I would like to see Barbie movies with live actors to see how it would look like.

Ouch
TheNamelessCzar27 May 2023
We try to have a family movie night once a week, and my nine-year-old daughter got to pick this one. I think she intentionally picked something to make things challenging for me and her two older brothers. The animation was poor, the plot was silly, and the voice overs were very poorly done. The only two saving graces were the dances and the songs were unintentionally hilarious, and it was my daughter's choice so I had to give it an extra point in my review. Definitely has a certain target audience that I did not fit. We had a fun time laughing at it and spending time together as a family, but the movie itself was one to pass over.

This was a terrific film I am not much into Barbie but i watched it with my little sister we were both amazed. I would recommend it to all little children because it is exiting and the Morrel of the story is you can do anything you believe in they will fall in love with the story because it has drama, romance and comedy in also if your children believe in fairies then they would like this film too and if you liked this one I recommend watch all the other Barbie films like 'Barbie in a Mermaids Tale' and 'Barbie Fairytopia ' 'the Barbie diaries etc so this is a perfect film for all girls who like Barbie they will truly love 'Barbie princess charm school' so watch it today !

This is literally the second worst film that I have ever seen.
junior-427-49068317 April 2014
I have seen many, many films. We all have. And I do recognize the fact that Barbie movies are made for a particular demographic, however this does not excuse terrible writing! The movie is cheesy beyond belief and has awful dialogue. The plot is atrocious too, not to mention the stereotypical portrayals of women, however this is a Barbie movie and they're all like that. Back to my point though it would literally not cost anything to write a good script! Many many good children's movies have been made with fantastic screenplays (take the lion king or Aladdin, for example.) yet it seems consistent to me that Barbie movies are all terribly written and terribly animated. Very little time has been put into most aspects of this film. One of the few good points I can give it is the voice acting, which is a credit to the actresses and actors, given the shoddy screenplay and characters they had to work with. Don't watch the film. Save yourself the two hours and watch something good. Oh and the very worst film I've seen is battlefield: Earth. That one is worse than this.

P.s: the sound editing is bad too. Urgh just... Urgh.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC MOVIE
alra-8106323 March 2023
Barbie: Princess charm school is the best movie ever made. It is my all time favorite movie. The plot and characters were marvelous. The plot was surprising and exciting and it had absolutely no plot holes. I have watched this 6969 times and I'm still not tired of it. This movie also has an important message: inside every girl is a princess. Everyone should watch this movie. Especially people named Juho. You will not regret watching this movie. But you will regret not watching it. :) Barbie is a true girlboss and everyone can learn a lot from her. I also love Portia. I too like floor cake. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AMAZING LEGENDARY.

Everything so cute, that it captivated me, and I watched with emotion and interest...
RosanaBotafogo9 July 2023
Barbie stars as Blair Willows, a kind-hearted girl who is chosen to attend Princess Charm School: a magical, modern place that teaches dancing, how to have tea parties, and proper princess manners. Blair loves her classes - as well as the helpful magical sprites and her new friends, Princesses Hadley and Isla. But when royal teacher Dame Devin discovers that Blair looks a lot like the kingdom's missing princess, she turns Blair's world upside down to stop her from claiming the throne. Now Blair, Hadley and Delancy must find an enchanted crown to prove Blair s true identity in this charming and magical princess story!

"Every woman is a princess, only some have the most beautiful crown." Beautiful Barbie movie, plastered dolls, but the story is beautifully magical... A little futile, totally predictable, that evil queen vs kidnapped princess/commoner thing, but everything so cute, that it captivated me, and I watched with emotion and interest. ..
