There was once a time when it was possible to make good films, and not necessarily seek to create a blockbuster. This is a short, simple film. But it is refreshing. It reminds me of my childhood, when films were made out of artistic ambition. It also tells us more about the experience of war than ten blockbusters by Bondarchuk.
