- Susan Delfino: It's Marisa, right? Uh, I'm Susan. I don't know if you remember me from the open house.
- Marisa Sanchez: My mom's inside. I'll go get her.
- Susan Delfino: No, no, um, actually. I wanted to talk to you alone, if that's okay.
- Marisa Sanchez: Why?
- Susan Delfino: I... uh... I wanna ask you about your dad.
- Marisa Sanchez: Stepdad.
- Susan Delfino: Stepdad. Right. He wasn't a very good man, was he? When your mom mentioned him, I noticed the look on your face, and I had this feeling that maybe there was a problem between you two.
- Marisa Sanchez: I don't wanna talk about this.
- Susan Delfino: It's okay. I know him a little bit, enough to know the kind of person he is. You can tell me. Did he ever hurt you?
- Marisa Sanchez: Why?
- Susan Delfino: I know that you just met me, and this must seem very strange, but I came here because I know what he did and even though I can't take away the pain, I can promise you one thing: your stepfather will never hurt you again.
- Marisa Sanchez: How can you know that?
- Susan Delfino: I just know. He is never coming back. I promise.
- Claudia Sanchez: Marry a rich man, Marisa, because the only thing guaranteed in life is that the bills will never stop.
- Marisa Sanchez: Maybe you should sell his motorcycle.
- Claudia Sanchez: Your stepfather loves that thing. He'd kill me.
- Marisa Sanchez: But what if he never comes back?
- Claudia Sanchez: Of course he's coming back. Why would you even say that? Did he contact you?
- Marisa Sanchez: No.
- Claudia Sanchez: Then what? Tell me.
- Marisa Sanchez: That woman who bought all that stuff... she came to talk to me. It was weird, but she promised he'd never come back.
- Claudia Sanchez: How would she know?
- Marisa Sanchez: [shakes her head] That's what she said and she seemed pretty sure about it.
