- In the 1950s Odessa (Ukraine) Mamma Liuba, a charming and smart woman in her 30s, is running a boutique underground brothel. Shes getting tired of the hassles attached to the business and is dreaming about meeting a man shell love and having a family. Finally the destiny gives her a chance in the form of an intellectual alcoholic suffering from personality disorder Adam. She makes up her mind to shut down the brothel and goes to her home village to see her mother. To her dismay she finds out that the stigma will haunt her forever.
