Dune: Part Two has been available to purchase on Digital services for almost a month now, but Warner Bros. has finally announced a streaming date for Denis Villeneuve's critically-acclaimed sci-fi sequel.
Fans will get to return to Arrakis from the comfort of their couches very soon, as Dune: Part Two is set to premiere on Max next Tuesday, May 21.
Although the movie didn't reach $1 billion as some predicted (always a long shot in the current box office climate), it did pass $700 million worldwide, meaning a third film based on Frank Herbert's second novel, Dune: Messiah, is likely.
Part Three hasn't been officially greenllt, but is believed to be in the early stages of development - though there's no guarantee that Villeneuve will to return to complete the trilogy.
“If we go back, it needs to be real, it needs to be relevant," the filmmaker told Empire in a recent interview.

GTA 6 will most undoubtedly be the standout release of the year, no matter when it launches. The reason is the title’s hype and the series’ track record. The game’s expected release date is Q1 2025, and it is almost certain that no other title will be released close to it, as it would risk a clash.
However, upcoming titles for significant franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Call of Duty are known to be coming. With several months between 2024 and 2025, Q4 2024 seems to be the perfect time to release high-profile video games, which could make for a happening holiday season for gamers.
GTA 6 Might Cause Titles Like Call of Duty Gulf War and Assassin’s Creed Shadows Come Out in Q4 2024 GTA 6 will compel publishers to release their games before 2025.
As mentioned, the title is expected to arrive in Q1 2025, as per reports and rumors in the industry, despite no official confirmation.

It’s tough to believe that Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed (AC) franchise has been taking us on adventures around the globe for 17 years now, starting with the series’ massive debut in 2007. Although a brand-new Assassin’s Creed is coming soon, the past few years haven’t been the best for the franchise.
One of the reasons behind Assassin’s Creed’s decline in the last couple of years has been Ubisoft’s constantly changing formula for the franchise. After the success of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, players expected AC Mirage to follow the same route. However, the company’s new philosophy for AC Mirage’s game design frustrated many. Now, it seems like AC Mirage’s most controversial changes might plague the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game.

Marvel Studios is said to be very close to announcing a writer (or writers) for the long-awaited X-Men movie, and we may know which scribes have emerged as Kevin Feige and co.'s top picks to pen the reboot.
According to Jeff Sneider on the latest episode of The Hot Mic, Rafe Judkins and Michael Lesslie are in the mix to write the script. He believes these two are the finalists to land the gig, but notes that other writers may still be in contention.
Judkins previously worked on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Tom Holland-led Uncharted movie, and more recently served as the showrunner for Amazon’s Wheel of Time adaptation. Lesslie, meanwhile, penned the screenplay for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and 2016's Assassin’s Creed movie.

Anya Taylor-Joy makes a very brief appearance in Dune: Part Two, but if and when Denis Villeneuve returns to helm his adaptation of Dune: Messiah, the Furiosa star will have a much more substantial role.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, spoilers follow.
In Part One, we learn that Paul Atreides' mother, the Bene Gesserit Lady Jessica, is pregnant with the late Duke Leto's child. When the Fremen take in the survivors of the Harkonnen massacre, Jessica agrees to become the tribe's new Reverend Mother (she isn't really given a choice) and is "persuaded" to drink the Water of Life (a blue substance that's been extracted from a juvenile sandworm).
This gives Jessica incredible foresight and knowledge of previous generations, while also awakening similar abilities in her unborn daughter, who begins to communicate with and seemingly influence her mother's actions.

One of the most fascinating elements about the Assassin’s Creed franchise is how with every instalment, Ubisoft takes the player on a journey to experience a completely new and fresh country. And the icing on the cake for gamers who also happen to be fans of the popular Game of Thrones series is how the next game might just be set in the place where a lot of the shooting for the HBO’s show took place.
This Ubisoft franchise might soon be in a crossover with Game of Thrones indirectly
As many diehard fans would know, much of the shooting for the mentioned series was hosted nowhere else but in Malta, an Island country located in Southern Europe, and a place that has been one of the top tourist destinations ever since, especially for Game of Thrones fans.

Even those only vaguely familiar with video games probably know names like Super Mario, Grand Theft Auto, and Call of Duty. They’re the franchises that have come to dominate gaming over the last 50 years or so. Some of those franchises are currently being updated almost every year, while the new releases in others have become milestone events that seem to reshape the industry. New franchises come along and others fade away, but the biggest and best video game franchises have been slowly growing for years and, in some cases, decades.
Honestly, it can all be a little difficult to keep up with. For as significant as gaming’s biggest franchises are, they’re also…well, big. Over a long enough period of time, it’s easy to forget when specific games in certain franchises were released and where exactly they fit into the history of those series. You may know the names,...

The Assassin’s Creed series has featured several historical eras so far, and Ubisoft seems keen on exploring even more. Mirage was in 9th-century Baghdad, the upcoming Red will be set in feudal Japan, and Hexe is rumored to be set in Central Europe during the 16th-century Roman Empire.
The possibilities seem endless with the franchise, and a cheeky hint from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s senior writer, Alain Mercieca may point to another historical backdrop the series could venture to in the future: Brazil.
The Spanish Conquest Has Yet To Be Explored In The Series
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag slightly touched on the Spanish conquest, but didn’t really explore it beyond that.
In an interview with The Gamer, Mercieca expressed his personal interest in exploring South America, particularly the time period surrounding the Spanish Conquistadors:

Far Cry 2 is considered to be a cult hit nowadays. While most gamers might not care for it as much, fans of simulation games with a lot of exploration do not mind spending hours exploring the world of Far Cry 2. The game was a decent success too; its last recorded sales number was 2.9 million. And Ubisoft considered it a decent hit.
Besides featuring a very rough location that tested gamers at every step, this game also did away with a bunch of other shooter conventions. It did not have a mini-map, which had become the norm in open-world games back then. One can say that Far Cry 2 was without a doubt a unique game that deserved all the success it got. Given how its director thought back then, it makes sense they made such a game.

While hopes for a fresh Watch Dogs release have been officially extinguished by Ubisoft, the recent release of Watch Dogs: Tokyo, a manga based on the premises of the popular franchise might just be enough to bring the fans together again and demand another video game release, based in world’s most crowded city this time around.
Watch Dogs: Tokyo is a new manga series
The new manga is exactly what many players needed at the time, especially those who have been following the game for a long time, and are disheartened by the discontinuation of the series’ production.

It was nearly a decade ago that the first ever Watch Dogs title was released for gamers to enjoy, bringing with itself a lot of mechanics that were never seen before in the industry, and the potential for just as many to be introduced in the future.

2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may be not be the biggest game in the series, but it’s the longest for sure, requiring around 60 hours to complete the main story, and around 146 hours to 100% the game. It also allowed players to choose between a female protagonist or a male protagonist.
However, Valhalla went one step further with the ‘Let the Animus choose’ option for Eivor, which broke away from the standard male/female selection by changing the character’s gender throughout the game, and according to producer Julien Laferrière, that may be the intended way to play the game.
Eivor’s Gender Can Shift According To Story Moments The interlinking of Eivor’s gender with the Animus is a very interesting way to explore the character.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise has long walked the tightrope between historical accuracy and engaging gameplay. The latest entry in the series, 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, promises a back-to-basics approach, with a focus on 9th-century Baghdad and parkour-intensive gameplay.
While Ubisoft has gone to great lengths to simulate Baghdad as period-accurate as possible, like including the linguistic diversity of the city, studio historian Ralph Weyland admits that the developers had to take some liberties with historical depiction for gameplay purposes.
Ubisoft “Literally Moved Mountains” For Assassin’s Creed Mirage
The mountains in the background should be much further away, says Weyland.
In an interview with Game Rant, Weyland acknowledged that while Mirage strives for authenticity, certain elements had to be adjusted to “help gameplay.” One such instance is the surrounding mountains:

It is not an everyday scenario that a studio gets the chance to connect one of their successful franchises with another one, saving both of them in the process. This is exactly what Ubisoft chose to give up as Watch Dogs could have potentially been saved by ultimately becoming a modern-day Assassin’s Creed title.
Watch Dogs could have potentially merged with Assassin’s Creed
Unfortunately, with the franchise being over for now, it remains next to impossible that the studio will implement the above-stated idea, allowing it to go down the drain once and for all.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Ubisoft’s latest entry in the franchise, transports players back to the hustle and bustle of 9th-century Baghdad. Critics have praised the return to the series’ roots with its focus on parkour, hidden blade assassinations, and a smaller, more focused approach compared to the bloated Valhalla in 2020.
The newest Assassin’s Creed title may have flown under the radar among the other huge launches in the second half of 2023. However, one aspect of Mirage‘s historical accuracy deserves due credit.
A Medley Of Languages Was Key To Simulating Baghdad The busy streets of Baghdad in Assassin’s Creed Mirage have period-accurate linguistic diversity.
In an interview with Game Rant, Ubisoft historian Raphael Weyland highlighted the importance of portraying Baghdad’s multicultural identity in Mirage:
Yes, I really, really wanted to make sure that the city felt like it was inhabited by multiple people, people from multiple backgrounds.

Ubisoft is well-known for spending significant time researching before creating a new installment for their award-winning historical action-adventure video game series, Assassin’s Creed. With the latest installment, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, Ubisoft once again delivered historically accurate 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age. Not many people know that this game was initially going to be an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but was later reworked into a standalone title.

Just like Mirage, Ubisoft put historians and researchers to work to accurately portray Vikings in the years 872-878 Ad. At the time of its release, players were confused as to why Ubisoft chose this period as it is not widely known that Vikings also used stealth strategies. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed is indeed one of the most popular franchises in the world that began with 2007’s Assassin’s Creed video game. The game set the base for one of the biggest historical action-adventure video game series of this era and it continues to dominate the market 17 years later. The latest installment in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, took players back to 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age, particularly the Anarchy at Samarra period.

At the time of its release, there was some criticism over the depiction of Baghdad during that period, with many raising concerns over false representation but Ubisoft historian Raphael Weyland once explained how every small detail in the game took hours of research and effort.

Video games are evolving at a rapid rate. Changing from linear experiences to dynamic ones, thanks to games like Helldivers 2. Other things that have been increasingly implemented in video games are the moral implications that shape gameplay. Some suggest Ubisoft would bring something similar to Far Cry 7, changing the franchise for the better.
They had a chance of doing it years ago with Rainbow Six: Patriots, but that was scrapped in favor of Siege. Afterward, they tried implementing this in a number of their games, but in a very small way. There were some choices in Assassin’s Creed games; even Far Cry games had those, but they did not change the output drastically. But now things would supposedly be a bit different. One must say that if they have decided to bring this change to Far Cry 7, they can also bring an incredible new feature from Rise of the Ronin.

English actor Andrew Lincoln came into prominence with shows like This Life and Teachers, before becoming popular because of his role in the Christmas rom-com, Love Actually (2003). He played the role of a man in love with his best friend’s wife, opposite Kiera Knightley, and his confession was one for the books. That day, we all fell in love with Mark, and in extension, Andrew Lincoln.

Back in 2012, Ubisoft decided to show their fans an incredible new game called Watch Dogs. This game was to start a brand-new IP featuring a protagonist who could hack everything he could see. The first thing gamers noticed about that game was its visuals. Then came the gameplay: a character running around a city, hacking traffic signals and bridges using his cell phone. It looked just incredible.
Ubisoft saw much promise in this new game, and fans were pretty hyped too. This game seemed like one’s ultimate power fantasy had come to life. Eventually, the game was released to a mixed-to-positive response from fans as well as critics. This is how the Watch Dogs franchise started, but no one saw it ending so soon.

Ubisoft found themselves in hot water recently when it was revealed that one of the missions featuring Jabba the Hutt in the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws game would be sold as day one Dlc and locked behind a pricey paywall and the game’s special edition. Understandably this went on to cause much anger in the community, especially as Jabba has featured heavily in marketing to this point.
The games industry is at a very interesting point, the last few years have seen an increase in games as a service, micro-transactions, and Dlc. There has also been even more pushback from players, as games seem to be more about being vehicles used to make a quick buck, than being actual creative endeavors from studios that want to make a stamp on the medium.

Elden Ring is one of the most successful video game titles in recent times and has even managed to win the 2022 Game of the Year award. What it offers to the player is a unique open-world experience of a kind never seen before, all thanks to the brilliance of the game’s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki.
The player gets to come across many characters in Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Elden Ring.
One of the game’s best features is how the players come across a large number of characters in their journey to become the Elden Lord. While many of these turn out to be hostile to the players, some of them end up being loved unconditionally by the fans, and one would have a hard time believing how Ranni the Witch, a fellow Npc is voiced by an actress who also stars in the popular show, Peaky Blinders.

Creative Director Stephane Boudon and Art Director Jean-Luc Sala answered only a handful questions, one of which was,
“Did you ever think about making a Dlc/new storyline contents for the game, considering how well it was received by the community?”

Out of all the themes that the Assassin’s Creed franchise manages to craft an experience around, history happens to be a big one. From the shady pathways of London in 1868 to the mystical and open landscapes of ancient Greece, the franchise has managed to tell several stories from many parts of human history.
However, things may be a little difficult to grasp with Assassin’s Creed Hexe in this aspect, especially when magic and spells might take the center of attention. While Ubisoft is trying to manage both realism and fantasy with this one, only time will tell how it truly turns out.

Assassin’s Creed has gone through many changes and Ubisoft has made its fair share of questionable decisions which affected the franchise. It would appear that the franchise has thrown historical accuracy out the window and is going on a more unrealistic approach.

It’s like everyone is planning a battle royale game for their franchises, and Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is no different. Well, ‘would have been no different’ is more appropriate, as the studio’s battle-royale game will likely never see the light of day. After all, a new game can’t be released from an already-dead franchise.
This might be news to some fans, but others would have seen the writing on the walls a while ago. While some franchises experience a natural death with the conclusion of their stories, others are forcibly interred due to their lack of profitability. It’s disappointing to see the franchise fall into the latter category, with a potential title that could have saved the series.

Ubisoft is currently hard at work on multiple Assassin’s Creed titles. Two of them have already been confirmed; one is Codename Red, which is apparently set in Japan. The other more prominent one is Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, which is set in central Europe. It would supposedly be set during the 16th-century Holy Roman Empire.
It would entail a story that would be crossed over with the mass hysteria during which around 80,000 people were unjustly executed for the crime of witchcraft. There’s no hint as to what the game’s protagonist would look like or who that would be. Fans are guessing that it would probably be a witch. Now a leak suggests that this game would be a scary experience for anyone who dares to play it.

Civil War is an extremely powerful, effective movie that thrusts you into the middle of an American civil war seen through the eyes of a war photographer. It’s brutal. It’s extraordinarily violent. The sound design is bordering on abusive. And if you watch it in IMAX you can reasonably expect to leave the theater with more than a little motion sickness. It is, however, excellent, with great performances from Kirsten Dunst as the older, jaded photographer and Cailee Spaeny as the reckless youngster new to the game. So see it. But we’d be very surprised if you decide to rush back for a second viewing.

Video game developer Todd Howard has been looking forward to a cinematic adaptation of the game Fallout for over fifteen years. The developer reportedly thought of Jonathan Nolan after seeing his work on The Dark Knight and wished for him to adapt the beloved video game franchise to TV. Howard mentioned that he loved The Last of Us as a game too, and had immediately thought how it would be as a movie. However, with Fallout, the team had to go in a different direction than the games as it was an open-world video game.
