Haitians turned to heaven after the January 12th earthquake. Prayer filled the night before Evangelical preachers began mass conversions describing the earthquake as divine punishment on a sinful nation. "Bondye bon" (God Is Good) describes the battle of three religions: Catholicism, Protestantism and Voodoo. Haiti is in perpetual conflict. Christianity versus Animism! Indoctrination versus Freedom! Dictatorship versus Democracy! From the bishop to the Voodoo priest, from a Protestant minister to a Baptist woman in a displaced-persons camp to the Prime Minister, "Bondye bon" is the story of a failed State and a people seeking the miracle of a possible future.
