No pun intended - our main character has to go through a lot. He has to fight, not just for him, but for his family of sorts. This may have a bit of Last Unicorn vibes (especially the sea and waves we see) and maybe some other things it draws from. Being black and white, it chooses to be ... well stylish I suppose. Not sure if it would have worked the same way if it was colored.
The action is quite nicely put, but there is not really too much that I would call exciting. It really is just ... well decently done. Which is more than fine .. and it serves the story and does what it has to do ... will he overcome? We want him to of course ... but that does not always play into the final decision the director plays out ..
