Fun Interview
Tales of Laura Gittleson (2011)
*** (out of 4)
Dagmar Lassander is the interview subject in this eight minute featurette that can be found on Blue Underground's Special Edition release of Lucio Fulci's THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY. She starts off talking about how she got into acting and then she gets into some of the better known films in her career including Mario Bava's HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON and then we get to Fulci's THE BLACK CAT and THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY. Overall this is a pretty good featurette and especially when you consider that actresses like Lassander aren't always interviewed about their careers. It's certainly fun getting to hear about her work with Fulci, although for some reason she never talks about what it was like working for him. The Italian director has such a bad reputation perhaps they just didn't want to bring it up yet again. Lassander comes across very charming and especially early on when she's trying to explain (or understand) why these gore films are so popular in America.
