The mysterious footprints in the film are actually actor Angela Wong Carbone's. They were created using a mixture of volcanic ash and water.
The short story "The Yellow Wall-Paper," by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, was an inspiration for the film's themes -and is notably the only book in the film whose title is visible on the shelf.
The hallway floor during the film's climax is actually carpeted. The wood flooring was creating by gluing refurbished barn door wood on top of a flattened cardboard box.
The design on the wine bottle is in the basement is an original illustration by Brooklyn-based artist Suny Gao. The name of the wine, "OIZE," is a nod to Oizys, the Greek Goddess of Anxiety, and the illustration intentionally resembles Wong Carbone.
