The opening "Star Trek" franchise tag usually shows the main ship of the series (e.g., Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020) features the Cerritos; Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022) features its Enterprise) tracing the Starfleet insignia. Episodes 1-9 of Picard season 3 showed the USS Titan-A, but for episode 10 the logo is traced by the USS Enterprise-D, and the completed logo shifts to a "Borgified" style. There is also a Borg cube present in the background of this scene, where all previous episodes have been the Shrike (Vadic's ship).
Features a post-credit scene, something rarely done in Star Trek.
The shot of the Enterprise-D after dropping out of warp is a combination of the opening shot from Encounter at Farpoint (1987) and an often used rear shot of the Enterprise, both of which were originally filmed by the team at Industrial Light & Magic.
At about 2 minutes in, the identical footage from the beginning of the Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) show opening is used.
The scorch marks from its descent into the Veridian III atmosphere in Star Trek: Generations (1994) can still be seen on the saucer section of the USS Enterprise 1701-D.
Walter Koenig: (voice only) Federation President Anton Chekov mentions that he is the son of Pavel Andreievich Chekov, a navigator in the original Star Trek (1966) series and movies, and is played by the same actor. Anton's name is acknowledged as an homage to late actor Anton Yelchin, who played Pavel Chekov in Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and Star Trek Beyond (2016). It is also the same name as the Russian writer Anton Chekhov, whose father was named Pavel Chekhov.
