Cop lacks confidence, looses control, love's his taser...we should all be very concerned!
Just saw the cops tv show with Benjamin Lord chasing suspected DUI,looked like a red older Camaro. Occupants were ejected.
Does anyone know if the guy had head injuries? Or worse, ended up in a wheelchair? Gotta say I was kinda shocked when they started tassing the guy when he wasn't following commands. From what I saw...that wasn't necessary! Did it ever dawn on them he might have a brain injury? In my opinion, police appear to forget they're taught self defense as well as "takedown"methods(that worked fine for years)but they appear to me...not confident enough in themselves to apply these methods. And that scares me. To think we are protected and served by alot of terrified cops that lack enough training and confidence. Instead they go for a taser or their gun! In my opinion...they need to go back to police school and learn hands on methods like they did for years including physical fitness(that's obvious as I'm seeing way more chubba wubba's then ever before, thanks union's)learn nutrition so the majority of them can run after someone for over 2 minutes,as well as deprogram the majority of them that learn(and I know this as a fact) to consider everyone they approach has an agenda or is up to no good until proven otherwise! And let's top that up with some people skills!!! They aren't any better than anyone else! They are supposed to uphold our laws! Not assume everyone is breaking them! Get out of that car and walk a beat,Lord knows most of them could use the exercise! Just saying. Get to know the people you are sworn to protect and serve and stop looking at most everyone you engage with as"the enemy"It makes you look ahhh ridiculous especially when you are so very quick to pull that taser or your gun! You should be ashamed of yourselves,it does not look good to most of us! It makes you look weak and that's where I believe the distrust starts the minute you make eye contact with Joe public. Just look at body cam or dash cam footage. You people always have your hand on top of your side arm,or taser. Again lacking confidence. I know some will say policing isn't like it used to be because of all the illegal guns, drugs, whatever. At the end of the day the biggest problem I see like I said before, they lack people skills but mostly confidence in themselves. They have no idea how to difuse a situation with words, just with those"tool's"ie taser and side arm! These old ideas won't solve everything but I believe it would help. I say do a national test, retrain 10,000 of them then follow them for a year with their new"tools"see the difference. Yes there's still going to be really bad people but most of us aren't! And yes there still will be very bad cops! Even kid's are scared of most police, that's crazy. We used to be taught to go to the police if we needed help...now sadly we have to teach our kid's to be very scared of them and God help them if they ever find themselves pulled over for just driving around(like kids do especially when they 1st get their drivers license)not all of them are packing and looking to rob someone! I remember when my daughter was learning to drive so she wasn't going very fast on a gravel side road...you guessed right,we got pulled over for suspicious activity!!! Seriously? It made her nervous to finish that drive. I had to take us home! It's pretty intimidating when your 16 year old daughter gets pulled over with her mom, cousin, and Boxer dog in the car and we are told to show our hands? Not to mention kid's we're in their school uniforms but in the cops defense the top was blue and the skirt had red in it so I guess Blood's and Cripp's came into his mind, that's all I could think of except we don't have those guy's where we live! He showed a lack of confidence in the early evening as he stripped my daughter's confidence right before my eyes! In my opinion...he needs retraining if he thinks a couple girl's wearing school uniforms learning to drive with a mom could be a threat to his safety. Maybe it was our big bouncy happy kissy wiggy bum Boxer dog that shook him? Maybe to him she was a pit bull or a rottie or maybe he envisioned Cujo!
Geez what a review! Sorry I got a little carried away and this probably wasn't the best place to express myself...but honestly when I saw those 2 police officers have to resort to pulling a taser on a guy that was just ejected from his car, that looked to me like he had an obvious head injury...leaves a bad taste in my mouth! Cops chase car,car looses control, flips and ejects girl and guy,guy appears unconscious, cop appears to have no regard for possible spinal or head injuries as he man handles guy by grabbing head and turning it towards him then forces eyes open, then gives guy a little shove, then drags guy and girl away from car that's on fire be cause car might blow up! Yep that's pretty much what I saw. That cop was just chasing that car so his adrenaline was pumping which clearly made him loose control of himself and his emotions! We can't have that in our police,it is DANGEROUS!!!
