“General Hospital” was the top soap going into the 2023 Daytime Emmys with 19 nominations including Best Drama. It was followed by “The Bold and the Beautiful” with 14, “The Young and the Restless” with 13 and “Days of Our Lives” with 11. Beyond soap operas, the most nominated program was “The Kelly Clarkson Show” with 11. The winners were originally scheduled to be announced on June 16 and June 17, but the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes caused them to be postponed until December 15 (the main Daytime Emmys telecast on CBS) and December 16 (Creative Arts and Lifestyle prizes). Better late than never, the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys got underway on Friday night from downtown Los Angeles’ Westin Bonaventure Hotel, after six months of postponement due to the Hollywood strikes. Airing live on CBS, “Entertainment Tonight” hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner were back to emcee this year’s event. (The Daytime Emmys Creative Arts & Lifestyle Awards continued the kudos on Saturday.)
“General Hospital” dominated the competition, winning seven awards — including daytime drama, as well as both supporting actor and supporting actress, younger actor, guest actor, directing and casting. “The Bold and the Beautiful” won the two lead actor and actress prizes, however.
“The Kelly Clarkson Show,” meanwhile, pulled off six wins, including outstanding daytime talk series, outstanding daytime talk series host and directing team. Netflix’s “Island of the Sea Wolves” was next with four, followed by “The Bold and the Beautiful,” with three.

Nominees have been announced for The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards recognizing the best in daytime drama, lifestyle programs, and culinary series, among other categories. The winners of the 2023 Daytime Emmys will be revealed during a live broadcast on Friday, June 16th, airing on CBS. The ceremony will also stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the nominees for the 50th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, with ABC’s General Hospital leading the nominations with a total of 19.
CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful followed with 14 nods, while CBS’s The Young and the Restless received 13 and NBC/Peacock’s Days of Our Lives earned 11. All four shows were nominated for best daytime drama series along with Popstar! TV’s The Bay.
