It Was Weird But In The End Remarkably Beautiful
Mickjmor22 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Well this short video that was posted online was sublime! It was very chaotic but very interesting to view, yes it was pretty graphic with violence & unpredictable nudity. But it had heart & depressing style of culture with the use of Gothic background & butterfly's in frames to make it look Innocent. This is a one off choice for actor Shia Labeouf who was the true attention seeker of this video to make it well known in making so many views on YouTube.

P.S For guy's & I mean "everyone"! I say watch Transformers then this Chaotic Piece Of Art! But if your into this sort of film making? Go right ahead I'm not stopping yeah.

I'm giving it an 8/10 because it's cleverly visual & quite distinctive in it's own way.

Mystery can be beauty

Yes I totally agree with the previous reviews, it is totally weird and unclear to comprehend. However, I think it is very artistic and we have to remember that masterpieces while we sometimes won't understand what message the author wants to convey, we can marvel at its beauty. If you look at Picasso's masterpieces most were elusive to common understanding. We have to accept things we don't understand and things that we do. I liked the use of the butterflies as symbols of peace and happiness, and then I liked the two weird guys that kept blowing air at them that symbolized turmoil. Looking beyond the peculiar choices of scenes you can truly appreciate what Sigur was trying to create. Nonetheless, I loved seeing Shia naked : )

Never liked Shea and probably never will

Warning: Spoilers
Why should you make a movie that 95% of the people won't understand? I mean come on, not even 1 percent of us is really into films, we watch movies because we want to enjoy our free time, and to enjoy the time we put to watch the movie we have to understand it, right?

This short is something like "The Quran" and a little bit like "The Bible", everyone who watches it will interpret it differently and believe me this is not a good thing, because none of them understands it so they'll try to draw their own conclusion and at the end nobody will agree with the others.

So, give me a simple plot to understand, some action, a good actor, a little bit of suspense and I'll enjoy my time and give you a good rating, fail to do so and you'll have to do with 1 or 2 out of 10.

Only the music is great

Warning: Spoilers
I must say it was quite nice listening to this and I'd have been okay watching a blue screen as well while hearing the music. There is no blue screen in here though. Instead, we see Shia Labeouf and a couple more actors and actresses trying to turn this into an aesthetic watch. It never became one for me. It felt really forced with the way they tried to turn this into something incredibly relevant and pleasant to watch. I wasn't impressed. This is a very multi-cultural effort between Iceland, the United States and Israel, so it's a bit about understanding between countries too, even if this aspect was never a part of this video. All in all, a fairly underwhelming watch and I would not recommend it. Thumbs down and I kinda like LaBeouf, so he wasn't the problem at all.
