Self - Narrator : It's June, 1812. Thirty-six years after the Declaration of Independence, the United States declares war on Britain and invades her colony in Upper Canada. Britain is already locked in a life and death struggle with Napoleon in Europe. Upper Canada is poorly defended and vulnerable to attack. A majority of its population is American-born. U.S. politicians are convinced they'll be welcomed with open arms, and former president Thomas Jefferson declares, "Victory will be a mere matter of marching." The odds are stacked in favor of the United States, as the fate of North America hangs in the balance.
