Where Writing Went Wrong
actaction1 December 2022
The beach scene, an important blur of information and revelations with absolutely no pay off. Characters don't react to life changing news, they don't even take their sunglasses off. The show had been dragging for about 2 episodes, particularly with the previous tarot card episode, but it really starts down a path of indifference with this episode. If it were season 02, we would be in a more picturesque place and the lighting and camera angles would be more thought out. We would have had some close ups on characters, some emotions as their decisions happen to decide what their wrecked world would lead to next. Gino goes into the breaking bad this episode and yet it happens so so easily. Instead of spending time with that we get more gratuitous sex... to the point where it's not sexy or scary or thrilling. He's sick and has an addition to it. We get it already. The scene with the killer getting into the car with the body, he doesn't even look around... another missed opportunity for suspense and horror... no it's just a bland car chase. The next episode says "believe me the cops wouldn't have come"... why not? Why didn't Gino call the police? Why wouldn't they have? Or at least they could have sent the mob to clean it up. The whole thing just absolutely falls apart and goes nowhere and it's right here where it happens.

The Big Dady Fight
ZegMaarJus24 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Theo and Adam, they are travelling to Fire Island. Gino and Patrick also arrived at Fire Island. Henry and Gino are walking on the beach, they talk about Gino his articles. Theo isn't feeling so well, he got infected with something. Gino gets attacked by Big Daddy. Patrick shot Big Daddy in the back of his head. Big Daddy escaped. Sam drugged Theo. An Okay Episode of American Horror Story Season 11, this was not so exciting. The only thing that was good in this Episode was the fight with Big Daddy, who isn't dead! Looking forward what will happen in the last two Episodes!

Lost its purpose
mattjenkins12 November 2023
Unfortunately it looks like my love for American Horror Story has come to an end. It's themes of Sci-fi, horror, thriller & drama are no longer relevant in this latest series. It's just a dramatic killing of the gay community and there's not much of a story line apart from the gay relationships which make up the focus for the majority of the screen time. This series stopped showing on U. K. terrestrial TV and suddenly was only available on Disney subscription so when I finally decided to fork out for it, this was one programme I thought I would be happy to catch up on. Unfortunately if this was the only reason I subscribed to Disney then I would consider it poor value for money and have to cancel it. Please go back to basics if you are going to make any more series as this one was terrible and I couldn't take anymore episodes. Very disappointed.

Is the series a response to the Dahmer series?
tallmat14 November 2022
The episode and the whole series thus far seems an uncannily accurate view of how it felt to be in the gaybourhoods between the 1950s and the 1980s, with the toxic masculinity, the predator hunting for sex and man-to-man violence that so often targeted the young and vulnerable.

The last scene of this episode is why I'm writing this- it was so touching and very evocative for perhaps anyone who has lost someone to sexual violence.

I have not built up the courage to watch Dahmer yet, having lost some friends to mass murderers, but season of AHS season seems very heartfelt, honest, respectful and relevant for LGBTQ2S people, and specifically male survivors of homophobic violence; their family and friends.

S11.E8 - Entertaining [8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S11. E8) My Live Reaction / Review for American Horror Story Season 11 Episode 8 ''Fire Island''. Episode 7 was good and I gave it a rating of 8/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. The virus keep spreading and it doesn't look good. Im tired of Patrick and Gino fighting, they always fight. Patrick keep seeing his dead ex wife, that's not good. Wait, the leather dude followed them to fire island? Damn this guy is everywhere. Leather guy vs Gino? Let's go! Patrick shot him? Is he dead? He is gone? Where did he go? Not even bullets can stop him? Sam is such a psycho. What happened to Theo in the end? Overall a good episode, my rating is 8/10.
