Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • There is a large amount of fighting throughout the whole film:
  • A dragon is shot out of the sky with a bolt thrower (a stationary oversized crossbow). In the next scene the dragon lies on the ground, dead. The bolt/quarrel sticks in its rump, and blood can be seen.
  • It is mentioned that a minor character has committed crimes such as "murder, rape, arson, [...]".
  • Chopped-off heads dangle at the entrance to a cave.
  • Several Orcs are attacked with arrows. The arrows get stuck in their shields and armours, and the Orcs charge at their attackers.
  • A woman is clubbed unconscious with a single blow to the head (no blood).
  • In the course of a fighting scene a girl pounces on a man in an attempt to run him through with her sword (he dodges).
  • During a vision/flash back an Orc is shown ripping his enemy's head off with his bare hands (brief but intense).
  • A woman (Elf) and a male Orc engage in several fast-paced acts of sword fighting. However, the sequence is not dead-serious.
  • A man is attacked by a snake-like creature when wading a stretch of water. He manages to kill it with a dagger (no blood).
  • A hurt and exhausted woman is thrown to the ground, her bruised and bleeding face in a close up.
  • An Orc threatens a bound woman with his whip and states that she is promised to him after his leader had "his fun" with her.
  • When one of the main characters arrives at a lake shore, he finds a dead, yet halfway standing man, impaled by a lance.
  • An Orc splits his opponent's shoulder with is war axe (no blood, shown from the far side).
  • A woman jumps at an Orc, causes him to fall and stabs him repeatedly and viciously. The stabbing action is visible, but not the body itself. Yet splatters of blood and the sound of the blade make clear what is happening. Immediately after this she kicks and slices several other Orcs (no blood).
  • A woman gets an arrow in the waist. She partly runs, partly is dragged further whilst the arrow is sticking out of her body.
  • An Orc pulls an arrow out of a woman's waist (no blood). She screams. He then cauterises the wound with a hot iron. She screams anew, then clenches her teeth. The whole scene is lightened by the fact that the Orc is humming joyfully during the procedure. There is a little blood shown as the woman inspects the treated wound afterwards.
  • A woman gets caught in a net. She falls down a scarp, repeatedly hitting the rock face.
  • Several women are sacrificed by being thrown into a pit.
  • A woman is hit by an arrow. The archer then punishes/tortures her by twisting the arrow in the wound.

Profanity

  • Some mild name-calling ("brat", "worthless Orc")

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • During the intro scene two goblets can be seen standing on a map table. In at least one is a red liquid noticeable, presumably wine. Nobody is present to drink from them, though, and the goblets only serve as decoration.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Although not overly brutal, there are many onscreen killings as well as allusions to torture and/or rape.
  • Younger viewers can also be disturbed by the Orcs' features as well as the voice and appearence of the masked antagonist.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A longer fighting scene contains acts like bare-hand choking and kicks to the head. It ends with a woman ramming her sword through her foe, then decapitating him. Both happens onscreen, blood sprays from the neck.
  • After an explosion, a man walks through the settling dust, carrying the ripped-off arm of his foe. The arm is later thrown on a table in close-up.
  • A presumably insane man attacks a woman in a dungeon with little to no warning. She finally strangles him with the chain hobbling her feet.
  • Several zombies/walking skeletons are "killed" with swords (no blood). During the same scene an Orc chops off a giant creature's hand, then rips its heart out by the means of a clawed glove (some guts and gore).
  • An Orc wraps his whip around a woman's neck and pulls her off her feet. She is then beaten with a mace. It isn't actually shown how the mace hits her, but her face bears bruises and blood afterwards.
  • A man gets stabbed by his masked opponent.
  • Crossing a lake by boat, an Orc encounters three mermaids. They ask him to join them. As he refuses, their faces change from beautiful to grotesque. They drag him out of the boat, but flee after he wounds one of them (blood and scary images).
  • A dwarf is decapitated. The decapitation itself happens offscreen, yet the sword stroke is shown as well as the head rolling away. The man wielding the sword then takes up the head and throws it away (some shredded bloody flesh is visible).
  • An Orc kills his opponent by first running him through with his sword, then decapitating him. Blood splatters when the head comes off.
  • A woman slams her sword into her enemy's head. He pulls it out and slices her abdomen with it (not bloody, but dramatic).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The mermaids are attractive at first, but turn into multi-fanged creatures, which can frighten some viewers. Same goes for the visions regarding the demon.
