Great open to season 4

Man have I missed these characters! We have a new addition to the cast: Patton Oswalt, what a freaking gem, I look forward to seeing a whole lot of him this season. Raylan's witticisms are top notch as ever. Im glad to see the writers are still using Arlo and wow, he is as interesting and diabolical as ever!

Strange things are afoot
Mr-Fusion14 December 2016
There's a lot to like about 'Hole in the Wall' as a season kickoff, but opting for an overarching mystery instead of another Big Bad is a intriguing choice; defies expectations, keeps things fresh. To that end, it does a great job with sleigh-of-hand. Boyd's at the top of the Harlan oxy trade, but business is threatened by a startup church; and Ellen May, tormented by a guilty conscience over Delroy has become a willing parishioner (as well as a threat to the Crowders). She's never been a particularly sharp knife, but you just know that her days are numbered.

On the lighter side is Raylan, who's always been kind of a dick, but is currently pushing that envelope. Still, he's at the funny end of that spectrum. Even lighter is Constable Bob (Patton Oswalt) with his go-bag and big dreams of becoming a real agent of law enforcement ("This shít goes Road Warrior, man, I'm ready!").

All of this while an inexplicable courier bag turns up in Arlo's house. There's a lot of structuring at work here, but entertaining nonetheless.

Warning: Spoilers
The season starts with a flashback to 1983 where a someone feel sky diving from the sky ending up dead in the middle of a cul de sac. Raylan gets a call from a girl he slept with who calls him looking for help to catch a guy who broke free from prison. Raylan agrees and goes after the guy easily able to get him tied up and bring him in. Boyd visits a client of his who has not sold some of his oxie and not given Boyd his money.Boyd is told of some religious group stopping addicts from taking. Boyd lets an explosion happen in return for wanting his money so no other explosions go off. Some kids break into Arlow's house and Constable Bob Sweeney (Patton Oswalt) is the one to show up and check out the break in. Ellen May is visited by someone who gives her some drugs and while high the man wears a bear costume who she shoots while she is high. Bob calls Raylan about Arlow's house and when Raylan sees the hole in the wall wondering what the bag was about. Ava visits Ellen May telling her to stop with the drugs and with the gun she had. Raylan's car is stolen by the girl who flashed him and was also one of the two break in's. Boyd's sales have dropped and he believes more in this strange preacher because of another client having a bill from that church. Boyd is visited by an old friend who he gets to help him with getting his money. Raylan and Bob go to the junkyard first to find the car but the convict has escaped and so have the young kids. Raylan catches everyone at the scrapyard and after a big hustle with Bob the convict is caught and no one is given an offer. Bob knows why Raylan called him and promises not to say anything so Raylan can get the extra money for his kids. Raylan goes to visit Arlow at prison to find out about the bag and when Arlow lies about not knowing the bag Arlow goes away before Raylan can ask any questions. Boyd goes after his customer that owes him money and finds where this preacher is before blowing up the guy. Boyd's friend who came along shoots the guy instead of letting him free. Billy is the name of this strange preacher we get a glimpse at with his many followers. Boyd is hiding money from Ava and the gang in the celling. Arlow decides to kill a guy in prison happy with the mistake he has made. I'm fully convinced now Margo was the thing that made the show good because once again I'm disappointed and think the show will never reach those heights again. Patton was doing his normal stuff and no one made much of an impression on me worth talking about. I hate when shows try religion and now this show trying to do it could be a massive mistake in the future.

EPISODE GRADE: B- (MVP: Patton Oswalt)
