the metamorphosis of Lauren
RavenGlamDVDCollector12 September 2017
During Season One, Lauren (Virginia Williams) was kinda drab. No, not really. She was always slinkier than Kate, and she dressed to accentuate this, but she was downplayed, as if the producers didn't want her to upstage Kate (Sarah Shahi) too much. (not that Sarah Shahi CAN really be upstaged) Anyway, comes Season Two, and early on we caught a glimpse of Lauren at home, barefoot and with hair like spun silk. Now, in this episode, she is at the office as well with long, loose hair. Okay, widow Lauren is over the initial period of grief? Ah-ah. Actually, we do not know THAT much about Lauren, but I do figure that was a marriage of convenience. The producers are simply firing on both cylinders.

Few, if any, really care about "the cases of the week", we're here because Sarah Shahi keeps it all afloat with her bedazzling, passionate portrayal of Kate Reed. And Virginia Williams is added for good measure. It's all as simple as that. For me, anyway. I couldn't care less about the general story, it is the relationship intrigue and the facial beauty.

And does Sarah Shahi have a beautiful, and remarkably inquisitive, face. She seems to have, in the very best sense, an awe-inspiring foxy long snout all the better to poke around in other people's business. :)

I also repeat what I said way back then, good thing what they did with character Lauren, we see both of them, have a feel for both of them, their is no evil stepmother cliché.

With only seven more episodes to go, it is quite clear that there isn't going to be any dramatic changing of the weekly recipe... a yada-yada-yada human interest court case off- setting the relationship developments. Which is the series's big flaw: the other stuff. Fillers. Yawn.

But all worth it to watch the beautiful people.
