• Elektra : Where are you off to, then?

  Faith : Training. Big race tomorrow, remember?

  Elektra : You think you can fool everyone with your golden girl act, don't you? Faith Davis. Intelligent, dedicated, responsible, supportive. Blah, blah! But what do we really know about you? Nothing. Well, you don't fool me. You must have done something. Why else would the police have carted you off?

  Faith : You know nothing about me! Right? Jack Squat. Nothing.

  Elektra : My point exactly.

  Faith : Listen. People in this place, all they do is go on about their sad little lives. "Mummy and Daddy didn't want me, foster parents didn't pick me!" Boo hoo. Gets them nowhere. Because nothing changes, no matter how much you cry or how sorry you feel for yourself. It makes you weak. It's a waste of energy. I have to stay strong. Satisfied?

  Elektra : You know, sometimes when you shut people out, you make things worse. If people make up stuff about you, that is your fault, cos you give us nothing else to go on.

• Lily : [Elektra enters in living room, where mostly everyone is in]  Is she still mad at us?

  Elektra : I don't know what she is, but next time, you lot better keep your big fat mouths shut.

  Lily : I never said a word, so...

  Faith : [Faith enters the room]  Apparently, you lot making up stories about me is my own fault. So, here's the real gossip. The police think they've found my brother, Razz.

  Jody : I didn't know you had a brother.

  Elektra : Join the club.

  Frank : What do you mean "think"?

  Faith : They think they've found... his body.

  Carmen : You mean... he's dead?

  Faith : For quite a long time. The only way they can tell if it's Razz is if our DNA matches. That's why I went with the police. So, now you know the truth. I'm going training.

  [Faith leaves the room, leaving everyone a bit gobsmacked] 

• Rick : [Rick enters the living room, where Frank is on the computer and Elektra is listening to her iPod on the sofa]  Any new sponsors?

  [Sponsors for Faith to sponsor her for the marathon she's taking part in for charity] 

  Frank : Yep. It's almost doubled.

  Rick : Whoa! How have you done that?

  [Rick sees on the computer screen that Frank has put the information about Faith's brother dying on her sponsor website] 

  Rick : Did you wright that?

  Frank : Yeah.

  Rick : You fool! She's going to go mad!

  Elektra : [Takes out her earphones]  What's the problem?

  Rick : Frank's just told the world Faith's brother just died!

  Frank : It's got her more sponsors.

  Rick : Frank, she didn't want to tell us in the first place! Why do you think she'd want other people to know?

  Frank : It's a campaign.

  [Faith enters the room] 

  Frank : You get more money if people feel sorry for you.

  Elektra : Frank...

  Frank : It's a tribute because she's still running despite it all.

  Faith : Did I ask you to write me a tribute? I told you that stuff in confidence!

  Frank : I was just trying to help.

  Faith : Did I ask for your help, you idiot?

  Frank : You know what your problem is? You think you're better than everyone else!

  Faith : What, because I believe in working hard and not wallowing in self-pity?

  Frank : You can't see that people are trying to help!

  Faith : I don't want your help!

  [Faith leaves the room, Elektra follows] 

  Elektra : [Cuts to Faith and Elektra in their bedroom]  He got your donations up! I thought that was important to you.

  Faith : Keep talking. I've got nothing more to say.

  Elektra : Even if he did make a mistake, can't you see he was trying to help you?

  Faith : What is it with you lot thinking I need help? That's what got me stuck here! I was doing fine, looking after myself, paying my bills, doing well in school! And then I tell a teacher in confidence about my situation. Big mistake. I'm dragged out of my flat and dumped in care. That was her idea of "help".

• Faith : No. No, I don't believe you.

  Gina Conway : Babes, they were really clear. The DNA test wasn't a match.

  Mike : It's a good thing, Faith. That poor man was somebody else. It wasn't your brother.

  Faith : No, it has to be him. It has to.

  [walks quickly out her room, sobbing a bit] 

  Floss : [Cuts to the garden, where Faith sits down in a chair and starts crying to herself, Floss the new girl comes out of hiding and stands up behind the chair]  What's the matter?

  [Faith shakes her head, but doesn't say anything] 

  Floss : Don't cry.

  Faith : Sorry. Sorry

  Floss : I cry, too, sometimes. Sometimes you just can't help it.

  Faith : What are you doing here?

  Floss : Hiding.

  Faith : Why?

  Floss : I'm scared.

  Faith : Scared?

  Floss : Bad things happen here.

  Faith : Did Harry tell you this?

  [Floss nods] 

  Faith : Well, Harry, whatever he said... I am sure he didn't mean it. He's a good kid, really. He'll be worried about you.

  Floss : Should I go and find him, then?

  Faith : I think you should.

  Floss : Can we go together?

  Faith : You go. I just need some time.

  [Floss goes over to Faith and gives her a hug before going back into the house] 

• Frank : [Faith was resting in her bed in her bedroom, Frank knocks on her door and pokes his head round the door]  Is it OK if I come in?

  [Faith doesn't answer] 

  Frank : I'm coming in, yeah?

  Frank : [Frank sits on Faith's bed]  Talking helps, you know.

  [Holds Faith's hand] 

  Faith : The DNA test. I got the result.

  Frank : I'm sorry.

  Faith : It wasn't a match.

  Frank : So... Razz is alive?

  [Faith nods] 

  Frank : But if he's alive, why are you so upset?

  Faith : After Grandma died, he just left me.

  Frank : OK...

  Faith : Don't know where or why. His gang, probably. But he didn't come back. Didn't phone. Nothing.

  Frank : But if Razz is alive, he could come back.

  Faith : No. I thought if that was him, that's why he didn't come home. But it wasn't, so he could have come home, but he didn't.
