Please do not touch any aquatic wildlife.

Disappointing that in a documentary about saving our coral reefs, to see someone with such an influence who has been diving for 15 years, touching the marine life.

It is not our right to touch everything we like the look of, admire from a distance instead.

The message throughout the whole series is about restoring the damage which humans have created. There is no benefit to the reef by touching it unless you are specifically restoring it, there is however a big risk of causing further damage. Especially when this is scaled up to the number of viewers of the series seeing it acceptable to touch fish and prod parts of the reef they like the look of.

Bad example!

As said before, don't touch any marine life. No animals, no coral no other plants etc. Not only can you damage it beyond repair (there are also oils on your hands that hurt the protective layer of animals such as rays) but you can also hurt yourself. Some aquatic plants or coral are toxic like fire coral. Extremely bad example from Netflix. Besides that I'm a professional diver and their gear was not set up properly and their octo (alternative air source, the yellow hose) was not tucked in properly but was clipped behind their waist belt. Not only is it completely useless this way in case of emergency and can result in potential death of one of the divers, the fact that it is dangling can damage the reef that they are trying to protect. This is literally lesson one. So shame on Zac Efron who is a certified diver (I assume because it looks like it wasn't his first time) so he should know this but definitely shame on the dive operator.

Shows examples of what not to do

This show is ridiculous. Talking about all the damage of corals due to climate change, they proceed to then charter a ginormous and yacht to the reefs. Zac is then touching corals, fish and basically doing everything you're not supposed to do which can irreparably damage the corals and marine life.

I appreciate the fact that he's bringing awareness to the bleaching and decay of corals globally and that marine and human life suffers but if you're making a show about creating sustainability and supporting nature, then you should make sure you're leading my example.

Lots of fluff in this series.
