A brilliant horror-comedy special

My overall rating of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"'s Season 8: 4/10

Overall it's been a pretty "meh" season, and this episode, while certainly the best of the season, is not a superb one. Some of the scenes don't quite land (like the bizarre conversation about the Academy Awards and Batman in the middle), but both the dramatic/horror and the comedic elements get their turn to shine and the story feels well put together and plays off the prior continuity really well. The framing really shakes up the series' routine and does so in an utterly enjoyable way.

Warning: Spoilers
Friday the 13th is the date of this film as the guys go through the woods, we then see the police lights on them. The four guys were at a wedding not invited so the police believe they were the ones who caused such bad things. The crashers run into the groom who knows they have crashed his wedding to Dennis's ex-wife. Dee and Frank go to the wedding to stop this wedding from happening when Frank is attacked by a bat which then makes Dee have to puke. Frank then tells the police officer that he was in fact there to break up the wedding. Frank's AA sponsored is freaking out about the wedding so he comes to get some advice from him. The guys walk in on the wedding and it seems like a very weird area full on even weirder people. Dennis while talking to his ex in the bathroom notices her body has changed and when he try's to ask her to sign documents the bridesmaids kick him out of the bathroom. Charlie then goes all crazy in the interrogation room as he try's to translate what the old man said. The party then takes a turn for the worst getting very creepy with everybody acting like zombies. As all the weird people start to go zombie like even more stranger things happen. The wedding is going on and Dennis gets the first signature. Charlie and Mac lock Dee in the frozen fridge as she screams at them. It then goes all horror which leads us up the moment where we started from. They police then bring Dee in to tell the real story of all that happened. It then turns out that everyone was on bath salts. The story may all be clear but they still cannot find the bride. It then turns out that Dennis slept with his ex which made her love him more. When Dennis is able to go it turns out that it was his ex wife who let him go. Very creepy episode but I did enjoy it a bit because of how it made the horror funny.

EPISODE GRADE: B+ (MVP: Glenn Howerton)
