First episode in the series with an introduction.
"Rotznasig carcaju," mentioned by Kelly in the trailer, comes from "rotz," meaning "snot" (as a noun or verb) or "glanders," and "nasig," meaning "-nosed," and "carcaju" which is the Spanish spelling of the word for wolverine adopted into English from French-Canadian (carcajou), making it a "snot-nosed wolverine" wesen.
The ship shown in the beginning, C/S Global Sentinel, is a cable layer built in 1991. She does not actually have cargo space for shipping containers, nor the hatches needed to stow them in the hold. Any containers she needs to carry, are stowed on deck. Her hold is used for the cable reels. Contrary to public perception, 95% of all global communications and internet traffic is routed via submarine cables, rather than satellites.
