Before a formula 1 race starts the national anthem of the country where the race is held is played. Dutch musician André Rieu and his Johann Strauss orchestra played and sung the Dutch national anthem live before the start of the Dutch Grand Prix. Together with Dutch DJ La Fuente they performed also another song before the race.
For winning constructor (Red Bull Racing) the Austrian national anthem was played. This anthem was a instrumental version but a different one compared to previous version which are normally played at Grand Prix after a race win of this Formula 1 team.
Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo got injured during free practice 2 which was held on the Friday before the race. It was found that his hand was broken. Therefore he was not able to participate at the Dutch and following Italian Grand Prix. He was replaced by driver Liam Lawson, who made his formula 1 debut at this Dutch Grand Prix 2023.
Dutch driver Max Verstappen won the race, therefore the Dutch national anthem was performed once more. Normally the same standard instrumental version is played at the podium ceremony. But this time Dutch singer Emma Heesters sung the anthem live in front of the podium.
