“Seinfeld” fans got a shock last month when Michael Richards made a public appearance at the Hollywood premiere for Jerry Seinfeld’s Netflix movie “Unfrosted.” It was one of the rare times Richards has showed up on a major red carpet in nearly 18 years, as his career more or less ended in 2006 after he was recorded hurling the N-word and other racial insults at a group of hecklers during an infamous outburst while onstage at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.
Richards, who played Kramer on “Seinfeld” for nearly a decade and won three Emmys for his performance, is now returning to the spotlight due to the upcoming release of his memoir, “Entrances and Exits.” He recently told People magazine that “I’m not looking for a comeback” and stressed that he was “immediately sorry the moment” he said racial slurs onstage in November 2006.

As if everything we know about Scream Queens Season 2 wasn't already terrific, there's even more news to share.
Did we think it was impossible to improve upon the already announced cast? Honestly, no.
And yet, here we are. Kirstie Alley is on board, we learned today. As a series regular!!
Alley is a Golden Globe winner. She's an Emmy winner. She starred on Cheers, headlined NBC's Veronica's Closet, mocked herself in the hilarious and underrated Showtime series Fat Actress and recently took to TV Land for Kirstie.
Now? She'll be playing a brilliant and devious administrator along side Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd, Glen Powell and Niecy Nash who are set to reprise their Scream Queens Season 1 characters.
Others joining Scream Queen Season 2 as regulars are John Stamos, Taylor Lautner and James Earl.

At the La premiere of Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief, HBO's new documentary about the Church of Scientology, filmmakers and former members had strong words about the organization -- and its most famous followers.
News: Leah Remini's Scientology Tell-All
The film's producers claim that they reached out to Tom Cruise and John Travolta for interviews, but their requests were allegedly denied. Representatives from the Church said that 25 members were made available to refute every claim made in the documentary but that filmmakers allegedly shunned them. No active members of the religion appear in the documentary.
Director Alex Gibney told The Insider that Cruise and Travolta's influence made it important for him to try to include them.

As weight-loss companies continue to spend millions on celebrity endorsers, Et dives into the $40 billion a year industry to see who's winning and who's losing.
Marie Osmond, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Hudson are just a few of the celebrities who have been paid big bucks to endorse products for losing weight, but does their attachment to the brand actually make a difference?
Pics: Actors' Body Transformations For Roles
When Weight Watchers shifted course, taking celebs like Jessica and Jennifer out of their marketing plan, profits reportedly took a dip.
"The average person doesn't necessarily know which celebrity belongs to which program, which is something that can be troubling for companies when they hire celebrity endorsers," Sara Germano of The Wall Street Journal told Et. "But now there are so many different places to get information about weight loss and fitness that it's not just the celebrity speaking to you. The message is far more diluted."

With the help and encouragement of her long-suffering assistant and best friend Thelma Katz (Rhea Pearlman) and her eccentric chauffeur Frank Baxter (Michael Richards), Maddie realizes that Arlo is a diamond in the rough and invites him to move into her swanky New York City apartment.
Despite touting a trio of veterans from legendary sitcoms -- two from Cheers and one from Seinfeld -- the series was neither a...

Kirstie Alley’s show on TV Land Kirstie gets the boot. The network that is working to bring back classic comedy style shows, found this all star cast to be boring. The show followed Kirstie’s Maddie Banks a former play star who is now finding the reality of her life with her new found son. The show had signs of issues once it ended and the executive producer/creator/showrunner left the show unannounced. No word has been released by her or the network on the series being canned.
We’re sad for Kirstie and Rhea Perlman and Michael Richards. But we are hoping that she can find a better role for herself. This show was low ball and I am pretty sure she is aware of that. An actress on her level she should be able to do better for herself, but it seems that she isn’t...

In a changing of the self-titled comedy guard, TV Land announced on Tuesday (July 29) that it has given a series order to "The Gaffigan Show," while also confirming that "Kirstie" has been cancelled after only one season. As you might guess, "The Gaffigan Show" comes from best-selling author and Hot Pockets enthusiast Jim Gaffigan. The single-camera comedy has been ordered for 10 episodes and will shoot in New York, premiering in 2015. Based on Gaffigan's experiences balancing fatherhood, stand-up comedy and "an insatiable appetite," "The Gaffigan Show" has played an interesting version of network hopscotch. The project, created by Gaffigan and Peter Tolan, was developed and shot for CBS in 2013 and then redeveloped and shot this spring. It will now air on TV Land, with Comedy Central securing rights to air episodes one week after their premiere. “I am thrilled that TV Land is giving us this opportunity to do this show that Peter,...

Kirstie Alley's return to TV has come to an end. TV Land has canceled Kirstie after one season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Photos Summer TV Preview Kirstie centered on Madison Banks (Cheers alum Alley), a Broadway star who finds her life turned upside down when her son (Eric Petersen) turns up looking to reconnect with his biological mother after his adopted mom dies. The series boasted an all-star cast including Rhea Perlman and Seinfeld's Michael Richards. (Perlman has already lined up a new gig with an arc on Fox's The Mindy Project.) Exclusive: TV Land’s freshman comedy Kirstie just finished its freshman run on Wednesday. If it gets a second season, it will be without creator/executive producer/showrunner Marco Pennette, who is leaving. The departure is not related to Kirstie or its star, Kirstie Alley, with whom Pennette is a long-time friend. I hear there is a personal issue that makes it difficult for Pennette to perform showrunner duties on a series, which are very physically demanding. He still loves working in comedy and has joined Chuck Lorre’s freshman CBS comedy Mom for a part-time gig as a consulting producer, that is better suited for him at the moment. TV Land is expected to search for a new showrunner as part of its decision-making process on Season 2. Kirstie has not been a breakout ratings or critical hit but it features a dream cast of sitcom stars Alley, Rhea Perlman and Michael Richards.

On paper, "Kirstie" sounded like a coup for TV Land: A Kirstie Alley comeback vehicle that was also a "Cheers" reunion with co-star Rhea Perlman, as well as the TV return of "Seinfeld" legend Michael Richards.
Unfortunately, much of the sitcom's first season was met with a critical "meh." All the comedic talent in the world can't make up for subpar material, it would seem. But where did you land on the series?
Did you enjoy watching Maddie (Alley) reconnect with her long-lost son Arlo (Eric Peterson) while maintaining her Broadway lifestyle? Did Perlman and Richards as her assistant and chauffeur, respectively, inspire hilarity in your household? Are you hoping for a Season 2?

Fresh off his Super Bowl moment with Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander scratches another name off his "Seinfeld" reunion list with a guest appearance on TV Land's "Kirstie."
Appearing on Wednesday's (Feb. 19) episode of the Kirstie Alley comeback sitcom as Maddie's (Alley) sleazy agent, Alexander and former co-star Michael Richards share the screen for the first time since HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" mounted its "Seinfeld" reunion in 2009.
Although, as the above preview makes clear, the relationship between Maddie's agent and Frank, her chauffeur (Richards), isn't nearly as friendly as the one between George Costanza and Kramer.
Check out the preview above and be sure to tune in for the special reunion on "Kristie," airing Wednesday (Feb. 19) at 10:30 p.m. Et/Pt on TV Land.

Kirstie Alley and John Travolta are back together, and the "Look Who's Talking" flashbacks cannot be stopped. The pair are reuniting on screen when Travolta guest stars on TV Land's "Kirstie," playing a stagehand who gets involved with Alley's character.

Zap2it: What is it that you like about playing larger-than-life characters, as with your alter ego Maddie on "Kirstie"?
Kirstie Alley: I love "Auntie Mame," and I love "All About Eve." I could go on and on about the movies and the characters I love. I wanted to play that, and it's funny because in real life, I'm sort of the godmother to everybody's kids. And I think, "Why did they choose me?"
I'm eccentric, and I'm not cozy with kids. I'm like, "All right, what do you want for lunch?" Or, "Why would you do something like that?" With the characters I liked when I looked at films growing up, the women were powerful and sort of crazy.
